    The Wheel of Life

Actually, the majority of mankind will perish (Mat 7:13,14). This passage is in the sense that God "wills to have all men be saved," i.e. desires all men to be saved. But He knows that the saved will be few in comparison to the number of the lost. God already knew this is how it would be. He...

    The Wheel of Life

I'm not one who believes that it requires God to first give one desire for Him. Otherwise all would be saved. Those whom God gives the desire to be right with Him will not fail to be right with Him. Our difference in understanding has to do with how one has the desire for Him. Some think it's...

    The Wheel of Life

But it does refer to all the saved, though the passage intends primarily the apostles. God already knew all who are going to be His, even prior to creation, thus the phrase "all who should be saved" intends "all who will be saved, because God knows all who will be saved. The Book of Life attests...

    The Wheel of Life

Yes, everything is used by God for "good" (Ro 8:28). Even evil is used by God for "good," e.g. one cannot say it is good for unbelievers to be saved. But one can say it is a good and righteous thing for God to condemn unbelievers.

    The Wheel of Life

Let's try some other passages that is more fitting (1Co 2:14; 2Co 4:4).

    The Wheel of Life

It's my belief that only those who desire to be saved will understand the Gospel. "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual (1Co 2:13).

    The Wheel of Life

I think I'm getting closer to what you mean, but not sure what is meant by "drawn to good," unless you mean drawn to what is good.

    The Wheel of Life

    I'm not understanding you here.

    The Wheel of Life

We have differing comprehensions concerning the Lake of Fire, in that Scriptures use of it requires the literal use. For how could the damned be sent there if it's not literal. The entirety of God's condemnation completely rests on it being real. God bless!

    The Wheel of Life

It would seem redundant for God to try to draw one to Christ when He already knows one will not choose to be right with Him; plus, everyone He draws comes to Him. He only draws those He knows will choose Him.

    The Wheel of Life

Not sure what you mean by "judged by the Lake of Fire." "Whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire" (Rev 20:15). Everyone who enters there "shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever" (Rev 20:10).

    The Wheel of Life

If one sins on purpose (intentionally or willfully - e.g. Heb 10:26), they are either not matured enough yet, or they are not truly saved!

    The Wheel of Life

Right, it doesn't include children, just adults. There's no way God would send a child to the Lake of Fire if they die as a child. Only if they live long enough to willfully reject God; and He of course already knows all who will choose to be right with Him! Everybody that should be saved will...

    The Wheel of Life

Hi, and appreciate your reply! The passage that concerns "I will draw all men unto me" is Christ's words speaking about Himself. (Jhn 12:32); and the phrase "all men" is in reference to all kinds of men. It can't be supposed that the call intends everyone, because He doesn't need to draw those...

    The Wheel of Life

Hi, and thanks for your replies! Concerning the "old man," we died to it (Rom 8:9), but it is not dead to us. It continues to attempt to tempt us to want to sin and this is where the testing is; but those reborn only want to "please God" (Phl 2:13). We can't have the old man and not sin at all...

    The Wheel of Life

I appreciate all your replies, but it's obvious that we have different understandings of many Scriptures passages, but of course that's ok.
  17. Netchaplain

    The Wheel of Life

Those who "willfully sin" are unbelievers, regardless of what the claim. Those who are believers will always "desire" to please God once they are reborn (Phl 2:13).

    The Wheel of Life

Understanding God's omniscience answers much of this issue. If God is forming one in the womb whom He knows is going to choose not to believe in Him, He is "fitting" him as a "vessel of wrath" (Rom 9:22). Don't know how else to share this, and it's ok if we have a different opinion about this.

    The Wheel of Life

Let's just say "after they receive the knowledge the knowledge of the truth" and continued to willfully sin, which means they learned of the knowledge of the truth, but chose not to follow it.

    The Wheel of Life

I don't believe God chooses some to salvation and not everyone. He just already knows your choice, even before He fashions you in the womb. Since He already knows who will choose to unbelieve, He "fits them to destruction," to be examples to the saved (Rom 9:22).
