    APOSTASIA in the LXX

Here are some numbers and meanings that should help bible students understand the meaning of the word APOSTASIA in 2 Thes 2. APOSTASIA and its cognates appear over 220 times in the LXX. They have a variety of meanings. 66 times in the LXX the meaning is a physical, spatial departure or...

    Putting the future pieces together

"Post tribulation" does not appear in the Bible, therefore, it is a false teaching. Right? See how silly you can make this.

    Putting the future pieces together

I don't think we disagree on a text here or there, where we disagree is on the Method of Interpretation. By your reply here, I can tell you are not a gracious, loving Christian. Please do not respond to my future posts.

    Putting the future pieces together

In order to take into consideration of all the events of the end times, we have to account for Ezekiel's prophecy. In chapters 38, 39 Ezekiel tells us that there are 7 months and 7 years that have to be included in the end times picture. The 7 months is how long it takes for the dead to be...

    Election in the Old Testament

I would like to know if anyone can find one reference in the Old Testament where Election refers to salvation. I was challenged with this but could not find anywhere in the OT where election was a synonym for salvation. in the OT Election is simply being chosen to a position of privileged...

Have you ever seen an apostasy?

I think what drives Ehrman is his bitterness toward God for a divorce he went through. It completely changed him.

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

The expression ἕν εἰσιν can be translated "are one" or "are in agreement." It is just which best explains the context. This is where the translator has wiggle room to translate it as he sees fit. This is one reason I don't use Translations.

Have you ever seen an apostasy?

The APOSTASIA seems to me to be an event, not a gradual process.

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

The authors of the NET, for example, are not anti-trinitarians. Show me with these other translations that the translators were anti-trinitarian. I am not doubting you (except for the NET Bible) because I have not done a study on these translators. But I feel you have overstated your case with...

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

Sorry about that. CT stands for Critical Text. This is a compilation of Greek manuscripts that are much OLDER than the Greek manuscripts from which the KJV Translation derives. The issue is between the CT and MT; MT is the majority text. This is a compilation of all the NEWER manuscripts. There...

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

Can you show me one scholar who is an anti-Trinitarian and successfully removed it in all the translations?

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

Here is the Bible (the CT). This Bible is hundreds of years before the KJV. Notice it does not contain the disputed text. 7 ὅτι τρεῖς εἰσιν οἱ μαρτυροῦντες, 8 τὸ πνεῦμα καὶ τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸ αἷμα, καὶ οἱ τρεῖς εἰς τὸ ἕν εἰσιν. Which is translated: "For there are three that testify, the Spirit...

    Dr. John Walvoord quote

How would you respond to Dr. Walvoord to this quote: "Dr. Walvoord's summary statement is instructive. It must be conceded that the advanced and detailed theology of pretribulationalism is not found in the Church Fathers, but neither is any other detailed or established exposition of premill...

The KJV of the Holy Bible is based on what? A question for all the KJO folks.

What would you say to Ed Hindson? The following is taken from an old article I have. I just want to see how people would respond to this: For example, Jack Hyles says: It bothers me when people say, “We believe that the Bible, in the original manuscripts, is the Word of God.” If that’s true...

    Romans 9.22 which voice?

Yes, Reformed people will interpret this as Passive. I contend that to do so is contrary to our Lord's mercy can love. Now, you can understand the Passive translation here as God fitting these vessel to destruction based on their choice. But, no such clarification is present, the Middle Voice is...

    Romans 9.22 which voice?

Rom 9.22 εἰ δὲ θέλων ὁ θεὸς ἐνδείξασθαι τὴν ὀργὴν καὶ γνωρίσαι τὸ δυνατὸν αὐτοῦ ἤνεγκεν ἐν πολλῇ μακροθυμίᾳ σκεύη ὀργῆς κατηρτισμένα εἰς ἀπώλειαν, What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction...

    "If" or "When"? - 1 John 1:9

Just a quick note here. We do not have the original manuscripts, but we do have the original words of the NT preserved in thousands of manuscripts. Dan Wallace put it this way: We have 103% of the NT, we just need to remove the dross. You say that the RCC voted on the canon. The canon was...
