    Was Noah's flood global?

Who? Robert Biggs? Probably not F.A. Molony since I think he's been dead a long time. Probably not Anne Kilmer since you said "he."

Was religion created to meet a human need?

All of the above, and some other reasons to boot, on a case-by-case basis. This is the unorthodox forum, so let me float an unorthodox idea. Consider a colony of ants. One could look at each ant, and think of it as an individual life-form. But one could also look at the whole colony of ants...

    Was Noah's flood global?

I already posted this earlier... https://biblicalstudies.org.uk/pdf/churchman/044-02_139.pdf It's about 8 pages, but the gist is that Noah's flood was likely regional and caused by an overflow of water from Lake Van running down the Tigris/Euphrates. Here's another, showing that the Bible...

    Was Noah's flood global?

If you start in a junkyard, you shouldn't be surprised to find trash.

    Was Noah's flood global?

That... isn't an endorsement. I'm a little unclear what your position is here.

    Was Noah's flood global?

Which brings us back to... maybe we're not understanding the Bible correctly.

    Was Noah's flood global?

It doesn't say the waters rose 15 cubits above the highest mountain. It says the waters rose 15 cubits... and that was enough to cover all the hills and mountains. Noah had some short mountains.

    Was Noah's flood global?

Or maybe we're just reading the Bible wrong.

    Was Noah's flood global?

I prefaced it by saying "for those interested in a non-global flood explanation." If that's not you, just move on. If that is you, then read the paper and find out.

    Was Noah's flood global?

For those interested in a non-global flood explanation, here's an interesting paper explaining how water could have been released from Lake Van due to volcanic/seismic activity and flooded the whole Fertile Crescent: https://biblicalstudies.org.uk/pdf/churchman/044-02_139.pdf

Is Sound Doctrine Essential for Salvation?

There are essentials and non-essentials. The essentials are basically... the 10 commandments. Morality. Ethics. Stuff like eschatology isn't really essential.

What does the Bible say about psychic intuition?

Divination in the Bronze Age ANE was performed by sacrificing a wild animal and then examining the contents of its stomach. It isn't really based on "intuition." But I guess if you're the mark that's how you'd look at it.

What does the Bible say about psychic intuition?

It doesn't say anything about psychic intuition. It prohibits the practice of divination and using familiar spirits, which some would consider related.

Why do we need born again

"Spiritually dead" is a weird phrase. It's confusing... I don't think everyone here means the same thing when they say it. One thing is certain. It doesn't mean that you're a body without a spirit in it. That's the literal kind of death.

Why do we need born again

In Matthew 8:22 Jesus says, "Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead." But we infer and read like... Follow me; and let the [spiritually] dead bury their [literally] dead. or possibly: Follow me; and let the [metaphorically] dead bury their [literally] dead. Personally, I'd like to see...

Why do we need born again

I'll give you my understanding... I think it passes the common sense test. Where Jesus refers to people who are "dead" (though they are clearly literally alive in the plain sense), this is a reference to the OT prophets referring to the nation of Israel as "dead" and "cut off" and "dry bones"...

Isaiah 65:17 vs. Revelation 21:1. How many NHNEs does that equal?

In prophecies (and especially Revelation) there are often images that are meant to be interpreted. This is one of them. The interpretation can be discerned by looking at earlier Scriptures. For instance... In Genesis 37, Joseph shared a vision in which his father and mother were visualized...

Is it okay to eat pork?

Nobody's going to hell for a little bacon. But some of us might be going to heaven a little sooner.

    REST for God's People!

If I wasn't interested at all, I wouldn't say anything at all. I'm interested in the subject, and in a conversation. But a long-form essay is a little more than I can work with during my little break from work, so I was hoping you might provide a succinct synopsis.
