    What is "god?"

No, he uses words like "religion" the way that common people who aren't pseudo-theologians on internet forums normally use them.

    What is "god?"

The synopsis Byrd asked for: Basically, he answers four questions that he feels prove Christianity is right and true, out of the 4,200 religions known in the world. But, more than that, Mike is real when he speaks.

    What is "god?"

I think he said something to the effect that most people won't bother to spend the time to learn things.

I know in your fanatical obsession with hunting for anything you can find negative about Trump, you see only what you want to see, but the actual truth of this is that he openly said he was talking of their "love talk" excesses..... AND he continued right along to quote what Strzok said about...

    What is "god?"

This was the sermon two days ago at our church. It speaks a little about this. What Matter Most wk 4 - Your Beliefs - December 01, 2019

I'm glad you mentioned AOC. Brilliant and charismatic, without a doubt, but in a limited scope that ensnares her in an obviously unrealistic fantasy world. The real world we live in does not respond to pushing a computer button in order to "reset" and "replenish" a Leprechaun's mismanaged and...

    Halloween Street Preaching

Yes, some might find God, despite being yelled at like that by a bunch of self-righteous fanatics.

I think you have totally reversed what I was saying. LOL I know God uses these things, and many others. I was saying many people read it, word-for-word, and see nothing but it meaning precisely what the words say.

Verses that DON'T convey what they say ...

I think it is just the biggest joke when I hear people swear they read every word of the Bible, "literally."

    King James Only

So, you are saying the KJV was deliberately written not to be understood? (Are you a Calvinist? LOL)
  13. Willie T

    King James Only

We have a problem, right off the bat, in claiming we only see what is written...… when Jesus makes a statement like "You have read" (or, "It is written") "but, I tell you...…….." And I have already mentioned a few of the many places every single one of us will agree that the Bible made...

    King James Only

That example isn't too good. The man was not an Israelite. He didn't even use the language he was trying to read (much the way we don't use Elizabethan English) What he was trying to study was in Hebrew, not even the Aramaic the Jews around him spoke. He came from a distant country and spoke...

Sorry, Taken, that was a little too scattered for me to follow.

    King James Only

But, why should a person of any age or level of competency in their language not be able to read a book and know what it says without having to trust in another man's opinion to tell them what they just read? And for that to happen, requires that translations evolve as the languages they are...

    King James Only

Do you honestly believe not one single word of all those hundreds and hundreds (more like, thousands) of tellings and retellings, and repeating, and retelling, etc. in the multiple centuries before any written languages existed at all, changed a bit? Really? We even see differences in the...

    When God lets you down

I think the word "trust" might be what we both are looking for. Faith might be more accurately expressed as R-I-S-K. If we have indisputable proof of what we believe in, we are risking nothing to trust in it.
  19. Willie T

    When God lets you down

But, "believing" isn't FAITH. The Bible says even the demons believe.

    King James Only

Yes, I don't understand all those arguments. My only objection to the KJV is that it is extremely difficult for the younger generations to understand. Literacy in this country has taken a nose-dive in the last thirty years. (You can see it right here all over this forum) And to expect people...
