    SALVATION

We are not saved from the penalty of sin....which is still death....but from the POWER of sin. That is why we need to work this salvation out. And you are stating 2 different standards in the above verses without differentiating them....but mixing them together. This is confusion.

    SALVATION

Hi Larry, What has led to so much confusion, not to mention so many denominations....is a lack of accuracy and clarity in our conclusions based on a reading of the word. We don't have a Paul to come around and make the proper corrections. So we need to be careful not to build on a shaky...

    Thank you!

Amen. And hopefully, by speaking the truth in love ....emphasis on LOVE....we can encourage one another to grow further into the likeness (or "loveness") of Jesus.

Many are called but few are chosen

The question is how can someone receive you into eternal habitations that has been rejected by God? I am trying to point out the different standards (or destinies) that the bible is informing us about. IOW....a saint must live to the standard of a saint...which is very difficult. And a...

Many are called but few are chosen

When I say we give grace....it isn't the same way that God does since His grace directly empowers us. The way we give grace indirectly empowers people....by encouraging them, supporting them, rescuing them....and basically loving them. If loving them includes money then so be it. We transform...

    How Jesus Christ understood Resurrection

This stems from a mixing up of 2 eternal destinies...that of a saint in the new Jerusalem and a righteous person in the nations.

    Magical Thinking

The quick fix Jesus. The genie in the bible. But in the end it is a lack of faith. Faith and belief aren't the same. Faith moves mountains.

Many are called but few are chosen

OK Try explaining this...in the parable of the talents. The Lord says.... Mat. 25:26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27So you ought to have deposited my money with the...

Many are called but few are chosen

Hi VIJ! I have a framework that allows to understand the word...down to the smallest details. Now very few will see it that way, of course. Especially in this time of rampant opinion mongering. But let's look at this more closely together! :) A steward is one who has authority. We could...

Many are called but few are chosen

Can the chosen also be rejected? Yes. But the chosen (few), when proved to be unworthy of that calling... need not be entirely rejected. They can be bumped down to the many who are barely saved. Parable of the unjust steward.... Luke 16:1 He also said to His disciples: "There was a certain...

Many are called but few are chosen

Too many people quote the promises and ignore the conditions.

Many are called but few are chosen

God does love to hide things. We are to be seekers of His secrets.....and we are to live by everything that comes out of the mouth of God!

Many are called but few are chosen

I think hypocrisy is a combination of a lack of knowledge with an added pride that defends the lack of knowledge as something to be desired....so it is a two-step into hypocrisy or self-righteousness. When people lack knowledge they will believe a lie...or at least a half-truth. That is not...

I think we are imputing, as it were, the best story to Brakelite. (In keeping with biblical terminology) :)
