@Ferris Bueller It's all of grace to endure anyway. Romans 8.38-39 is evidently talking about true believers. Those - despite whatever they may profess - who live and die in sin and unbelief were never true believers in the first place.

@AlsoAnne Hi; the Epistle to the Philippians is also strong on the theme of believers in Christ being joyful in suffering.

@April_Rose Thanks for your vote! Yes, it's so often viewed as worthwhile doing it at that age you voted for, right? Anyway, at the small, conservative local church that my wife and I attend, probably a majority of the young men and boys wear earrings, anyway; it's such a widespread custom now...
