To ministers and Christian teachers of the Word

If a minister is quenching the Spirit by feasting on porn, can his message have any empowerment of the Spirit?

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

The rest of Romans 8:1 is "who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." False doctrines are formed from ignoring the conditions.

Of course it is full of "I"s. It's about me.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

I said a few things there, so be more specific, please and tell me why you believe what you do about it with scripture.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

Whenever God speaks to me directly, it is profound and will change what I've thought up to then, and I've got more thinking to do.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

This question is ridiculous, so bye bye.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

You have twisted Peter's words. And besides, it was not you I was referring to, but to whomever started that ridiculous hypothesis.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

I've heard this response before and think it is the dumbest response ever.

So aren't you going to keep saying if something is not of faith it is sin? How would you say that now? Explain what you mean. I'm not finding fault; there is a reason for my question. In my own past I had faith something was not sin, that I now believe was. I felt no shame or guilt, because for...

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

I prefer not to use the word "grace" or "faith" by themselves in posting because of the generalized definition they have been given. You ask anybody and 9 times out of 10 they will say grace is unmerited favor, and place on that a further belief that past, present and future sins are all...

So sexual sin is not a separate category from other willful sins of lawlessness. (Against God's written laws.) Your irritation at your wife I would consider a trespass. Recently I came to the realization that not all trespasses are unintentional. So there are now three categories that I see...

Good post. And except for semantics I think we agree. I see justification, recreation and sanctification all on the same day. Like this: justification < recreation/baptism of Holy Spirit > sanctification. Then glorification is the life long process. past sins forgiven < new powerful creation...

And just what sexual sin are unintentional? But you have said that all sin is sin, and all sin is willful. Has that changed?

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

Yes, I agree. Antinomianism started 500 years ago and has infiltrated the whole Church in some way or another turning the definition of grace into unmerited favor, instead of the power of God given to us to fulfill the righteous requirements of the eternal laws of God.

@marks I think I answered them all. But if I missed a question or a statement you wanted me to comment on, please repeat it.

Its a two way street. If we just abide in Him we will sin, but if He abides in us too, we can't. 1 John 3:24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Yes, the Ten Commandments were surface laws that made no man perfect, because they did nothing to overcome iniquity in the heart. The Sermon on the Mount was introducing them to a new way of understanding. New Covenant laws of the Spirit go far deeper to the unseen spirit where the fruit of the...

    I agree.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

It is God that sees two types of sin, and I believe Him.
