    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

CL, There are no stronger laws than the ten commandments. Expansion and elucidation upon a law do not constitute a "stronger law." In fact, the two great commandments could be considered "stronger" than the ten, because Christ said they are the laws upon which the entirety of scripture hangs. :)

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

I'm sure, Sister, you must realize by now that you are largely the exception to the rule among those who reject the Sabbath. Nearly all vocal Sabbath detractors believe in a vague, hocus-pocus-by-the-Spirit brand of law that has no strength at all. When you say "Those of us you are debating with...

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

What a wonderful disguise to cover up your contempt for those who wish to simply be obedient servants. You may have your cheap, lawless brand of grace. I pray God will not charge your deception to your account.

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

The objection to obedience is always the same: "Legalism! Legalism!" Obedience as a means to salvation is legalism. Obedience as a response to this verse: If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15) is faith that works by love (Galatians 5:6). The commandments of Jesus were also the...

Every day. I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. (1 Corinthians 15:31)

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

You betcha, Sister! Isn't unbelief what kept them from entering into Canaan? The vast majority of the Israelites could not lower themselves to be changed in their hearts so that they could fulfill God's requirements. The old covenant was not based on law but on half-hearted, human promises to...

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

Nice swerve and judgment. I guess my ilk is just not in the loop. I might as well just give up, the way you present it.

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

Good luck with your "Paulianity." I hope you get to meet him someday. I hope you don't have much to apologize for. As if there were no other Bible writers. It gets old. Watching folks use Paul's rich and bounteous work as a club to whack over the head of the obedient. Paul's writings are the...

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

I don't believe you would intentionally deceive anyone. I simply do not believe it. But if one deceives unintentionally or mistakenly, someone has still nevertheless been deceived. Do you think that I think we should still keep unbelief? Perhaps what seems obvious is not the point at all...

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

God's way of what? If it is God's way of salvation, fine, agreed. But if it is God's way of Christian conduct we're talking about it would feature the ten commandments prominently. Frankly, I don't see how people in their twilight years can condone something that was never even suggested 50 or...

Why must you be so insulting?

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

Covenant Theology is just one more over-emphasis that Bible students would do well to be without.

    The Ten Commandments—What happened?

Dear CL, all you're doing here is stressing certain words over others and while I don't think you are trying to be deceitful, it's just the oldest trick in the book. We all learned it in grammar school. Stressing certain words changes the meaning of a sentence. The Holy Spirit is on one side of...

Does What Needs To Be Done To Be Saved Actually Do The Saving?

I believe it begins immediately, only some saints have thicker skulls than others (like me, for instance). This makes the work of sanctification harder and slower for the Spirit, but no less certain.

It does not mean what you say. We cannot It does not mean what you say. We cannot forgive someone's sins in God's stead. As has been stated in great detail in another member's post, John 20:23 addresses church discipline, not general atonement I'll leave the arguing to those who enjoy engaging...

No, they didn't. Jesus wouldn't condone something which is, by definition, blasphemy.
