    Do Hymns have any revelancy?

I can use a knife to cut my carrots or to kill a man. I can use my tongue to praise God or to curse him. Musical instruments are no different. Music and songs are to be elevating, to raise us above the secular. To transport us to realms of hope with the vision of the beauty of righteousness.

    Homosexual Church Dream

The human race is twisted and out of shape and far from the image of God he was made in. The degeneration has affected everything including our sexuality. Babies are born with the genitals of both sexes, others have deformities mentally and physically....I can go on. Irrespective of the...

    Parable of the Ten Virgins

Jesus said he didn't know them.....isn't that interesting? Here we have a situation where the lack of oil is related to not knowing him. I propose that they knew about him.....they knew all the teachings, the doctrines, they knew all the yada yada and I dare to say they presented a very 'nice'...

    Homosexual Church Dream

Dysfunction is dysfunction. Will man call it acceptable when God says it is not? Yes he will, just as he justifies all his dysfunction yet it remains dysfunction. The fact that there are homosexual churches (and I'm assuming they are practising homosexuals) that call themselves believers in...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

Solomon says a wise man will hear a rebuke but the only thing a fool hears is the rod.....yeah, I think some need a beating..... While saying that I cannot see myself executing a beating unless its spontaneous self defence action.....and even then, that sits very uncomfortably with me.

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

I hear what you're saying DNB and I do not disagree. What I am saying is, forgiveness is a conscious choice; a choice that goes beyond and against natural instinct. The ability to forgive comes as gift to those who have experienced a higher principle of operation ie, those who have had an...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

'for he lets his Sun shine on the good and bad alike' Evil needs to be addressed, there is no question about that but we are talking about forgiveness; the two both have a context. By forgiving one does not sanction evil; it rises above it, neither does it close its eye to it's heinous nature.

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

Our default position as people is unforgiveness. Will I dwell in this land to stroke my ego? Addressing a wrong does not mean forgiveness is missing. Jesus died for my sin before I was born which as I understand it, he forgave me while I was totally incapable of asking for anything let alone...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

The primary hurdle is that many think they are real when in fact they are self deceived. There is little understanding of what constitutes functional and dysfunctional attitudes and behaviours. It is evident on this site as I observe the various responses. I find those that know Jesus exhibit...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

Can they handle somebody real is the question? :) There are plenty of nice people I meet when from time to time I visit a Church but frankly I couldn't spend time with them because unfortunately I do not find them real. My 'real' meter has been tweaked and tuned over the years to the point where...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

sorry sbg, I don't have any verses that come to mind although there is this one I just thought of, 'trust in the Lord with all your heart and he will direct your ways'

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

From experience it starts with a willingness. Without willingness you go nowhere. I'll tell you my story in short form.... Quiet some years back I was engaged to get married. It stalled for reasons I'm all too familiar with meaning that difficulties that surfaced where not spoken about. She was...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

Love is a choice by principle. Feelings are engaged at a later stage to the principle. The connection or marriage between principle and feeling needs to be understood otherwise our heart is disconnected from our head. Principle rules.....'father forgive them' he said at the critical...

Are Christians to forgive everyone or only those who repent?

Forgiveness comes with love. It is the natural outflowing of a generous principle. If one does not choose to forgive one has not seen the great love God has for them. If one chooses to justify their lack of love for their neighbour all the pious words are clanging brass and tinkling cymbals.

In an odd dither this morning

I've done a bit of sailing solo across oceans. Rough weather and once a shipwreck that took two months to see the shores of home. God has ways of opening our eyes that we would never wish yet in hindsight, never regret.

In an odd dither this morning

Self honesty is the first cab off the rank. Without it I can't be honest with others and I certainly won't be honest with God. The Publican in Jesus story was self honest and we know what Jesus concluded.

In an odd dither this morning

I have realised if I were to see God's love in its entirety I would be a blithering mess of tears. I also have seen if I were to see the extent and real nature of my shortcomings I would also be a blithering mess. God in his mercy reveals both in packages as I am able to process and my ability...
