Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

Proliferating Christian denominations do not leave the faith; they leave congregations or denominations. A church a friend goes to almost lost a beloved preacher due to staff in-fighting. It is my understanding, during this tumultuous time, he put out feelers to start a new congregation in a...

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

Hmmm ... I don't know. I am certainly a Catholic apostate. And certainly a trinitarian apostate, as I think you could be also. However, I would not say self-identified Christians are apostate, by definition. Rather, I'd say my favorite Al Sharpton quote; they speak the light as far as they have...

Why belief in a god is an unfalsifiable claim that serves no purpose

1st, did I reference this? 2nd, the reference to this has nothing to do with what I posted. 3rd, have you taken up my 30-day challenge? If not, don't ever talk about science on this forum again.

the evidence Of what you believe?

Only 3 verses? Also, I think the counselor is confounding things that are separate AS IF what is subjectively important to a person is or ought to be objectively valued equally by by all. So, while I consider ethics objective, it is individual in application. So, regarding the Bible, it is not...

Why belief in a god is an unfalsifiable claim that serves no purpose

Pure fiction. The geometric analysis of the shroud, which shows numerous images through time, including movement of the foot, chest, and coins has nothing to do with magic. The DNA informational content being 4D, whereas humans can only communicate code in 2D has nothing to do with magic. The...

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

Rationalization. Of course firstborn of all creation means first created thing. Simple words, plainly spoken. To suppose otherwise is to suppose God is speaking in riddles, in violation of Mark 7:13 and 2 Cor 1:13 (VOICE) We are not writing to you in anything resembling codes or riddles. This...

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

I don't recall. However, I know it is from cultural evolution. Did I ever tell you the story of my friends' wife from South Korea? He lived in Boston and when she moved there, she went to a Korean Christian Church. I'm certain it was not due to the set of doctrines but her cultural comfort...

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

I was talking about denominations, not different faiths. It's no different than the problem of sin, generally.

A serious questions for the Jehovah's Witnesses on these threads.

Not really an answer to my simple question. It seems the simple questions trip you up. Implied is that the flag in question invokes a nation's allegience to Christianity. See how you changed the subject from nation, which is from the Great Commission to an individual person?

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

It's not a nice try; it's an out of the park home run. Jesus is a son, which means a created being. And Scripture specifically says Jesus has a God. This God made Jesus, not merely outright, as all father's make their sons, God made Jesus lord and Savior per Acts 2:36.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

Triple negative. Huh? You are saying that a picture of Being A is Being A. Simplifying the sentence - and stating things properly. It is right to say that no image is WHO the Being the image is of because the image is not a WHO.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

I'm not stumbling at all - you are. There is one subject in the paraphrase sentence, "He" (Referring to God). There are 3 objects which He is acting on, created: man the Son of Man his own image Consider the simple sentence, "I cut my own hair." The subject is I. And "I" is acting on the...

    So True

Na ah sweetheart. You posted what is not suspected. The not is a twisted knot in what IS being said. So, what are you suspecting? What is this, I am a man, business? What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

Huh? I haven't heard such doublespeak since I read 1984.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

Ironic because that is what you are doing. Invalid question. An image is a WHAT not a WHO. Subjects are not objects of sentences. An image of WHO does not change the nature of an image being a WHAT. Also, basic reading comprehension, converses are not equivalent. Joe of Maryland is not...

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

I pointed this out to AJ a few months back 1 COR 1:10 is not a command but a lament (I appeal to you). They only reason Paul wrote 'live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.' is because there was no such thing...

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

Hmmm. I think you know that I am fond of denomination and deny, for the most part, these are false teachers or prophets. My position is the various denominations primarily have a different focus. For instance, Catholics have a crucifix that has Jesus still on the cross to focus on the...

I remember that one. Too funny!

Jesus was made Lord and Christ at His resurrection

Hmmm. There is no "became the Christ" verse. What I cited was the announcment before his birth that he IS the Christ. The notion of 'becoming' is very Western. See Oswald's Spengler's Decline of the West. David was anointed king 2 decades before he became - or was crowned - king. Sure, the...
