His words were Spirit and Life because they were alive in him. Memorizing scripture does not bring it to Life in us. The adversary when tempting Jesus [Matt 4:1-11] used the scriptures unsuccessfully against Jesus because like so many Bible students, he knew the words but he was of the wrong...

Yes, the scripture was written by men inspired to do so by the Holy Spirit working in them. Similarly only by that same Holy Spirit working in us is anything we read or memorize or hear from the scriptures brought to Life in us. A spiritually dead man can memorize scripture for his own purposes...

"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11 Give God the glory!

"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again." Matt 7:1-2

"But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Matt 12:36-37

No, we have the scripture then in our heads, but that is the wrong head. What message was in the removal of John the Baptist's natural head? "... Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body." Eph 5:23 What was John the Baptist said? "He must increase, but I must...

Well as long as you sincerely believe in what you are doing in a sincere and proper way and time, why should you despair? You simply do the work for God and for people that God assigned to you and will you not be blessed by Him? You would not be the first prophet or teacher sent by God who...

Long before I was really striving to serve God my step-father and my uncles convinced me that tattoos served no good purpose. Serving God has reinforced the belief in me that there is no good reason to get a permanent tattoo no matter the subject. Others will do what they want as it is their...

Some people will insist that they know for sure... and if God really put the absolute truth in them then they are correct, but how is the other guy to know that unless God told him that the first guy really does have the AT? What is it that God wants us to live by... AT or by faith...

Yes, but consider this. With the knowledge which man has today if everyone were doing their best to make everything right and/or better everyone without respecting persons and instead making themselves first what a wonderful world it would be. But, man in general has never been that way, has he...

I was in three different oneness groups over a period of 11 years, I never received the understanding that you have. In a nutshell what I received in single line of a song they sang was: "Jesus is the name of the Father, Jesus is the name of the Son, Jesus is the name of the Holy Ghost and...

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecc3:1 "....a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;" Ecc3:7

Even so!

@justbyfaith Then perhaps as I said and as you said, we differ. Give God, who gives the increases, the glory!

. I think we have different ideas about what repentance is. When a person repents, he turns around or is turned around so that he is no longer doing certain things which were sin or which led to sin. There may indeed be a willingness to do whatever the Lord desires, but that is not repentance...

When I was young I did not know a single person my age with tattoos. I knew many of an older generation among men [males] who had gotten one or more tattoos while on active duty in the military. I never met one who did not regret having gotten his tattoo(s).

Many people have done things that they regret or will later come to regret... but we cannot change the past. Neither should we dwell too much on it. Today is the day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Putting someone down for something we consider a mistake will seldom...
