There Is No Purgatory. It Is Not In God's Character To Give 2nd Chances After We Leave Our Flesh

I gave several verses which apparently you didn't read, or don't like. All say God does this in us. Not a shred of evidence to suggest you do it in purgatory.

There Is No Purgatory. It Is Not In God's Character To Give 2nd Chances After We Leave Our Flesh

Against my better judgement by responding to someone that can't post without hurling insults, i'll say this. There is no purgatory for several reasons. The verse in Rev 21 is always trotted out by catholics with zero exegesis, zero context. Yet thats one of their major proof texts for the big P...

There Is No Purgatory. It Is Not In God's Character To Give 2nd Chances After We Leave Our Flesh

I don't normally go to those boards. I stick with the roman catholic boards. So if you never want to discuss calvanism you don't have to. There are rules about staying on topic, unlike here.

There Is No Purgatory. It Is Not In God's Character To Give 2nd Chances After We Leave Our Flesh

Partially true. When scripture is our highest/final authority we simply mean that we test all things by it; 1 Thess 5. Also when interpreting the bible we should do it in a way where we don't contradict any other part of the bible. Catholics, mormons, jw's have doctrines that contradict...

There Is No Purgatory. It Is Not In God's Character To Give 2nd Chances After We Leave Our Flesh

Purgatory is worse than this. In ccc 1475 you expiate your own sin in purgatory. Expiation involves sacrifice and actually atonement. So according to catholicism you can leave this world with sin not atoned for by Jesus, and go to purgatory atone for your own sin then go on to heaven. Jesus isnt...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

First, the rc doctrine of marys ic is a false teaching. Nowhere mentioned in scripture and making it a dogma 1800 years after she died means nothing. Secondly, His sacrifice was not 33 years long, nor is it eternal. He was sacrificed once for all. The effects, are eternal or what was gained is...

Is water baptism necessary for salvation?

Luke 24:47 doesn't mention baptism at all. Luke 3 only says they came to John for baptism but he even said to show fruits of repentance first. In Acts 2 they were baptized after they heard the preaching of Peter and the Holy Spirit fell. In Luke 7:50 Jesus told the woman to go in peace 'your...

    Soon to be fulfilled Prophesies

Trials, testing, persecution, suffering are things christians endure. Gods wrath is not one of them. Keep reading, you'll get there. I do, because its a promise of God. My citizenship is in heaven; Phil 3:20. Wheres yours? It is indeed. On your part. Verse 15; Rev 20 15 And whosoever was not...

    Soon to be fulfilled Prophesies

I didn't add to anything. Its exactly what the verses say. Youre spiritually blind. I even underlined or bolded words to emphasize the obvious. He takes HIS PEOPLE TO HEAVEN. There is no ambiguity there. You have to look at those verses then conclude its not what you want to hear, then simply...

    Soon to be fulfilled Prophesies

Happy to; And Your verses reference Jesus touching down on earth which is the literal 2nd coming. In the rapture He doesn't do that. We meet Him in the air then return to heaven. Two completely different events.

    Soon to be fulfilled Prophesies

It patently does. I see you chose to not even address the verses. It very clearly says we are caught up with him to be where he is. We aren't caught up to meet him in the air just to return to the earth.

    Soon to be fulfilled Prophesies

I agree, when it comes to eschatology there is lee way. We can disagree as believers and remain brothers and sisters in Christ. When it comes to eschatology i have convictions as to what i believe. But i'm also a pan-raptureist...it will all pan out in the end. I'm pre trib for various reasons...

    Soon to be fulfilled Prophesies

1 Thess 4, John 14 and many others. Jesus descends, those dead in Christ are caught up, we who are alive and remain are caught up and return with Him where He is, not where we are. So yes, the bible very clearly speaks of a rapture of the church. Then when the restrainer is gone, the tribulation...
