Interesting verse.

Lets take a look.

"""And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.""

Now im going to teach the verse, and i'll expound it and paraphrase it a bit as if you were in my class and taking notes.

This is an interesting verse, and it has a much deeper meaning then it would seem to have if you just read it and comprehend it at face value.

Most believers read the verse to say this..... "we are to try to make ourselves holy by self effort, so that we are like Christ, who is pure".

In other words, they take the verse and try to make it teach self righteousness, when in fact the verse it talking about being righteous.

Here is how you discern a verse, Saint.
You have to compare it with other verses to get the context.. or the true and deeper meaning.
See, verses are God's Light. They are not just words and sentences. But rather they are Spirit and Truth and Light, which is all the same thing, isn't it.

So, when you are "studying to show yourself approved", you study a verse by finding the spiritual meaning and the revelation value, or its core.
Never just read a verse.. Study it and compare it to other verses, as this is how God designed His word to be "spiritually discerned" by the Spiritual.

So, let me show you how to SEE this verse..

"""and every Man". = This is not all people... this is only all who are born again. And how do you know? Because the verse is relating the person in the verse to the purity of Jesus..."even as HE...JESUS....is Pure".
An unbeliever, can't do this or BE this.....only a Believer has this for themselves.

Look now at how the verse explains what the "PURE" is, that is " IN" The Man... and in this way we can locate the context of the verse..
"And every born again person (that has)..(can only be the born again)...that has THIS HOPE IN THEM"""...

Now see that? ??
This verse is talking about a born again believer who has THIS HOPE..IN IN IN Them
And its """THIS HOPE"" that explain what is meant by "as HE is Pure"...or... as JESUS is Pure.
So, ... "this HOPE, that is IN the born again, (him)".. is what?
What is it?
Its this Saint... "Christ IN you, the HOPE of Glory".
Jesus is the Hope, who is IN you, if you are born again.
Jesus is the "PURE" that is IN this person in the verse, who is all the born again.

Now here is the deeper revelation..
"purifieth Himself"......
and how? = "even AS Christ IS PURE".

So, what is the "pure" about Christ, that "purifieth the person in the verse"?
= Its Christ's (God's) Righteousness..
ITs the Righteousness of Christ that is the "PURE", that is IN this Person, that purifies them... "even AS" Christ is Pure, that is their "HOPE".

So, a born again person, is pure, because the same Righteousness of Christ , is IN THEM, and this Purifies them..., even as Christ is Pure.

Interesting verse isn't it?
It seems to say, at first glance, that you are to make your own self pure.
But this isn't possible.
But we the redeemed are made Pure, by the indwelling of Christ, our Hope, who bore our sin, became our sin and we became His PURITY.. = we are the Righteousness of GOD..... and how? By being IN Christ. By being 'ONE" with God. Which is caused by being born again.
= Born again INTO God's Spirit, by God's Spirit.

We are purified by the HOPE that is in us, which is JESUS, and this is how we are purified and kept so.
"Not by works, lest any person will boast".
But rather its "" Grace Through Faith", ""the GIFT of Righteous."" .
The GIFT of PURITY.
The Gift of Salvation.
This is found IN US, as "HOPE". This Hope is Jesus Himself, who Himself is LIFE and RESURRECTION and GRACE, and all this is IN US< if we are born again.

The person in the verse, is ALL the born again, who are always purified by God, through Christ's blood, because Jesus who is our HOPE< is inside us, making us PURE.
All of this is how and why we are purified (made righteous) and kept so.
Saint, this is the eternal effect of the Blood Atonement = Purified. Sanctified. Justified. Redeemed.

This is a false premise. Thus nothing built on this can stand.

God no more saves us without our consent than He makes us pure without our consent. If this were not so, this verse would never exist.

John exhorts us to purify ourselves because he believes that we CAN indeed, purify ourselves.

Cool! (and I agree) especially because of WHO INSPIRED JOHN ? (Who Inspired/ Directed ALL Scripture/ Who Breathed ALL SCRIPTURE) ?
