If my girlfriend treated me like garbage, why would I stay? If a friend used me for money, why would I want continue being their friend? If a coworker dumped their workload on me to get off early, would I not tell the boss? If the boss worked me like a dog, wouldn't I find another job?

If a Christian didn't love me, then why would I believe a word they said.

Interesting why no one's replied to this. Good thinking.

If a Christian dumps rubbish on you, go to his Boss.

Why should a Christian love you like you want to be loved by a girlfriend? That is not what the Bible is talking about.

    sex, fear of being alone
possibly bc you have some reciprocal use for them, or find some other value in the relationship
if you were under the law, which "job" implies, sure. Otherwise it's their workload, right. But surely they are making an offer you can't refuse there, at least usually?
you'd think so, huh? Bc what other option is there, right, evabody gotta have a job :/
wow, how long do you have here lol, never minding that "Christian didn't love me" is kind of a functional oxymoron, we have a man's enemies will be those of his own household likely mostly bc our close peers will not tell us what we really need to hear, and also knowledge brings sorrow. So, I know this seems perverse, but s better Q is prolly more like "if a believer evinces a connection with you, and you reciprocate, can you believe a word they say?"

I see you're gone now, hope you are well :)

the heart is deceptive above all things

    truth comes from perceived enemies,
    Galatians 4:16

and imo even "pearls before swine" ("swine" likely meaning more by way of the pearl-tosser's perceptions there) kind of examines the concept from the other pov I guess.

Keep some "enemies" around imo, they often become the best friends! :D

Funny, I was JUST thinking of @djstav yesterday....he seemed to have posted loads of posts...and started many many threads...then vanished.
He may be having a bad time physically....and/or emotionally, he did tell us that he had problems.

Hopefully we will see him again soon.
