I'm sorry, but that method is just too much of a roulette wheel approach.
Before we even start... Bible study, we should pray for understanding first.
Next, we should ALWAYS stick to the 'flow' of the Chapter. Line upon line, here and little, and there a little, is how God showed how to do that (Isaiah 28 with His rebuke of those who refused to do it that way).
If all one does when they wake up in the morning is, open up their Bible, read a couple of verses, and then apply them in ways 'outside'... the context of the flow of the Chapter, then that is NOT Bible study. It is playing Russian roulette with God's Word. How does one think our Heavenly Father feels about that? He wants us to 'understand' His Word.
Be careful brethren of those who think up fads and fashions using God's Word. They aren't a replacement for actual get-down-to-it line upon line, chapter by chapter Bible study.
