What does 1 Corinthians 1:10 mean? | BibleRef.com

Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. - What is the meaning of 1 Corinthians 1:10?

Great question Walter.
It seems impossible these days with so many differing beliefs! It's only those of the same mind who agree and gather together, so then we have all these cliques, even within the same church body. Perhaps it means that all are to agree together that Jesus is the only Way, Truth and Life?
This verse always bothered me as it is NOT what I see.
What causes these divisions? My belief is these things come mostly with extreme dogmatism. Christians of like mind in all things IMHO, do not exist :(
at least, not that I've experienced.
One follows this teacher and others follow others so it seems many Christians have become closed minded and gather together but that is speaking to the choir. People get set in their ways and will not budge hence, divisions.
Paul say's to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Eph. 4:3.
We are all over the place when it comes to biblical truth.
Some preferred Paul while others preferred Apollos or Peter...even this suggests division among the apostles to me. Unless it is their preferences are for their personalities?
Tough and disturbing question. No one matures well with these divisions.
I will be watching this thread for others input.
Much love in Christ brother!

Seems to me that the mind of Christ is in short supply these days and that is why we are not all of that same mind. So many churches/congregations are falling away from sound doctrine causing many sheep to scatter. Sign of the times.....falling away.....we were told it would happen. From what I can see, this is not a time of business as usual in the church but of the spirit of Elijah preparing the way of the soon coming Lord. Which is a time of rebuke and judgment and calling to repent from serving two masters. "How long will ye halt between two opinions? Either God is the Lord or Baal (Mammon)."

1Co 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
