I have three questions here, and I'm sort of perplexed of how to answer them.

1. If it's God's grace helping us overcome then why do we still receive crowns at the Bema Seat of Christ.
2. If it's sanctification by grace and not works then how are we (earning) crowns.
3. Do the crowns represent (how) we use God's grace.

Crown 1 - Crown Of Righteousness— Loved The Lord's Appearing - 2 Tim 4:8
Crown 2 - Incorruptible Crown— Disciplined Bodies / Self-Control - 1 Cor 9:25-27
Crown 3 - Crown Of Life— Endured Patiently Thru Trials - James 1:12, Rev 2:10
Crown 4 - Crown Of Glory— Godly Leaders Who Were Examples To Flock - 1 Pet 5:2-4
Crown 5 - Crown Of Rejoicing— Soul Winners Crown - 1 Thess 2:19, Dan 12:3

Hi ATP, The descriptions of the crowns gives the answer to questions 2 & 3. While we utilize God's grace, it is only by the desire in us to live a life pleasing to God that avails us of the opportunity to receive crowns. We receive the crowns for His glory, not our own. The more crowns we have, than the greater offering we have to return them to Him. I imagine we'll follow the example set by the 24 elders in Rev. 4:10-11 - "The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

I'm going to be blunt here.

I don't want any crowns. No treasure nada zip zilch.

Keep them. They are absolutely worthless in the resurrection. I know I know it's all to be given, but id rather not.

I'm not serving my King for rewards. I'm doing it because it's what I'd do even of there wasn't a King.

I live in an interdependent world. There are people I don't even know or have ever seen that make sure I have hot clean water to bathe in. A home to live in. Power to it. Grow and make the food I eat. And created roads that are safe to travel.

All of these things were provided to them by God. The whole lot.

So why on earth would I not give back when I've been given so much when I live on the same planet as these people? They don't even know me but they give of their works to show me compassion.

If they do why can't I do the same?

Keep the crowns. I have a whole world of unseen people led by God to help me. That's MY crowns.
