Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Philip preached to Samaria. He was preaching the name of Jesus and the coming prophetic Kingdom. The Kingdom was the fulfillment of prophecy; the reign of Christ on earth along with David and the twelve Apostles; the filling of the Spirit to obey the law of God and become a light of salvation to the Gentiles.

Acts 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,
8:28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

The angel of the Lord directed Philip to go to Gaza, where, he met the Ethiopian reading Isaiah.

Acts 8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
8:36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

The Ethiopian believed that Jesus was the Son of God. For eternal life Israel had to believe Jesus was Christ, the Son of God (John 20:31). For Israel, baptism followed belief to be saved into the earthly kingdom (Mark 16:16).

Acts 9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: [it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Paul met the Lord Jesus on his journey and believed on him (1 Timothy 1:16).

Acts 9:20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
9:21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
9:22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

The first thing Paul did was go to the Jews in the synagogues and preach that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God; This would be a pattern for Paul, to persuade Jews Jesus was Christ, the Son of God.

Everyone who has from God the same as Jesus received from God in Matt 3:16, are His sons and daughters no different at all. If you are different from who Jesus said he was in God then you are of another belief system instead and follow one such as Paul or another instead of one such as Jesus.

Saul was very smart, when he found out that he could not eraticat the ways of Jesus by execution, he changed his whole tactics for if he could get people to follow him instead of Jesus he could destroy in from the inward. He changed his identity from Saul the murderer to Paul the saint and got people to follow him in his ideas, and even stated that he used trickery to get people to follow him in his ways, be like him instead of be like Jesus. And Paul admitted that he’s a liar in 1 Cor. 9:19-22 for luring the Jews. He further testified that he’s a liar in 2 Cor. 12:16 where he used the word “trickery” (dolos in Greek), mainly used in bad sense. And obviously it worked for most follow Paul away from the ways of you are supposed to be according to Jesus to be exactly as he was in God, perfect even as your Farther in heaven is perfect.

It is much better for me to follow Jesus and be as he was in God, instead of the trickery, witchcraft, of another.

And for the most part, Saul achieved his goal for there are a whole lot more follow Paul and quote of him then they ever did following Jesus in who he was in God that you are supposed to be exactly the same.
