Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Jesus came to the lost sheep of the house of Israel and preached the gospel of the kingdom (Matthew 15:24 Matthew 4:23). The gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matthew 24:14). The believing remnant of Israel will inherit the earth and reign with Christ in the kingdom on earth (Revelation 5:10).

Paul did not preach the gospel of the kingdom. Revealed through Paul, is the body of Christ. The body of Christ, the new man, comprised of Jew and Gentile justified freely by the redemption of Christ, is to have position in the heavenly places (1 Corinthians 12:27 Ephesians 2:15 Romans 3:24 Ephesians 2:6).

It is the purpose, and wisdom of God, to gather together in one, in Christ, the remnant of Israel and the body of Christ. God will gather together heaven and earth.

Ephesians 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

That all of believing Israel and the body of Christ will be gathered together is part of the fellowship of the mystery.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

It is to manifest the wisdom of God to acknowledge that to Israel was preached the gospel of the kingdom by Jesus and the disciples, but Paul preached the fulness of the gospel of Christ (Romans 15:29). Through the Israel of God, the believing remnant, the earth is reconciled, and through the body of Christ the heavens are reconciled.

I'm sure it won't hurt here to address @Doug's underlying doctrine; by referencing

Ephesians 3:6.

That the remnant of Israel and the body of Christ will be gathered together in Christ does not mean the remnant was ever the body of Christ.

Scripture?

I beg to differ with you.

The body of Christ is graffed into the people of Israel in Romans 11; and therefore the body of Christ is included in the remnant of Israel to a certain degree; while Israel is the seed of Jacob for certain.

Therefore, the remnant of Israel exists within the body of Christ.

You may not be able to see this right away; and I don't know any other way to explain it to you. I'll just have to pray that the Lord opens your eyes to what I am saying.

Romans 9 through 11 is about Israel, not the church, the body of Christ.

The Gentiles grafted in are not the Gentiles in this dispensation...they are Gentiles that believed the gospel of the kingdom and are blessed in the believing remnant of Israel, they are not Gentiles in the body of Christ.

Romans 9:24 Not only the Jews believed the gospel of the kingdom, and the preaching of Jesus and the twelve, but also Gentiles (Acts 10:45). This was not our gospel of grace. They only believed on the name of Jesus (John 3:18 John 20:31).

Romans 9:27 This is identifying the remnant of Israel as what Paul is talking about. The remnant is the believing Jews and Gentiles who will enter the promised kingdom on earth (Isaiah 2:2-3 Exodus 19:5-6).

Romans 9:30 Those Gentiles had faith, which Israel rejected.

Romans 11:5 At the time Paul was writing, the remnant of Israel, Jew and Gentile, were participants in the church.

Romans 11:11 The believing Gentiles would provoke unbelieving Israel to jealousy.

Romans 11:13 Paul was speaking to the Gentiles, not in the body of Christ, but in the remnant of Israel.

Romans 11:17 The Gentiles were grafted into the remnant of Israel.

Romans 11:20 Unbelieving Israel was broken off the tree. The Gentiles were grafted in by faith

Romans 11:20 The Gentiles could also be broken off branches.

Romans 11:25-27 Israel will be saved.

I disagree with you, @Doug.

I believe that the olive tree is the church and spiritual Israel;

And that when the fulness of the Gentiles comes in, Israel will be graffed back into its own olive tree.

Thus all of the promises to Israel in the OT will be fulfilled in the lives of those who are truly the seed of Jacob.

Then Romans 11:20 says that we can be broken off

And I don't disagree with that per se.

It is only those who have the fear of the LORD in their hearts who are eternally secure (Jeremiah 32:38-40 (kjv); Psalms 19:9).

Jer 32:38, And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
Jer 32:39, And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:
Jer 32:40, And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

Psa 19:9, The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

The verses above are for Israel. In this dispensation we are freely justified by the redemption of Christ. We can not be broken off.

This is the gospel by which we are saved.
1 Corinthians 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

We are all sinners who can not save ourselves.
See Romans 3:23 Titus 3:5 Romans 5:6

Christ died for our sins; He was our substitute, He paid the full penalty and debt for our sin by his blood sacrifice.
See 2 Corinthians 5:21 Romans 3:24 Romans 3:25 Romans 3:26

He was buried.

He rose again for our justification ( to declare us righteous) and forgiveness of all our sin. He gives us His righteousness and eternal life.
See Romans 4:25 Ephesians 1:7 Romans 4:22 Romans 4:23 Romans 4:24 1 Corinthians 1:30

All we have to do is believe the gospel.
See Romans 4:5 1 Corinthians 1:21 Ephesians 1:13

Believing is being persuaded that something is true.
See Romans 4:21

The moment you believe you have eternal life.
Titus 1:1 Titus 1:2 Titus 3:7

Trust the gospel of your salvation. Believe in Jesus Christ to have provided payment for your sins and to give you eternal life. Place your faith in Jesus Christ, in his blood, his death and his resurrection.
