Ephesians 1:4,
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
The age we live in human operation works as follows; spirit rules over mind, mind rules over body. Lets talk about body for a minute. When you got born again your body basically did not recieve anything. I have heard of people getting saved and had some kind of a healing take place at the same time. But that is not what I'm talking about, what I'm saying is when you accepted Jesus as savior, in body nothing happened to you, everything took place in spirit. There was nothing really that took place in soul as far as getting your mind renewed. I remember like it was yesterday when I got saved (father's day 1987) how I felt like a thousand pound weight was lifted off my shoulder's. I was so happy, strange thing is I didn't know what was happening. Salvation happens to each individual different. Some may have some emotional experience, and some may not, doesn't matter salvation is the same.
At that juncture, everything that can happen to you that was needed to be a Christian happened. Funny thing is you may not have realized it, you realized you prayed, and you ask for forgiveness, and may have even felt better. But point being you may not have realized that the greatest thing that could ever happen to you just happened, that is amazing grace to save a wretch like me! The reason for creation is happening at that moment, the reason men breathe and exsist for the purpose of possessing another, Christ, to be their duly life is taking place in a moment.
The only reason creator God, now our father, created anything was for this purpose. We see the ultimate plan and purpose of all things in Ephesians 1:4. The only reason the material world exsists is to have a creation that contains a part of the creator God, Christ. He places a part of Himself in the creature, the unique individual he created and now lives in. The plan and purpose rings out the glory of God. The ill-fated minds of humanity can only speculate on this kind of glory. The glory of God is the plan and purpose of God. Because it was in the mind of God before anything was created Ephesians 1:4, to have son's in his house liken unto his only Son. The born again are the son's of God, they are not little god's, they are created being birthed to be his children by Christ in them. Creation are not son's of God as some in the world suppose, the world is God's creation. They are created in the image and likeness of God, but to be a child of God you must be born again. It is to the glory of God to have a plan that can only be experienced not speculated on.
So the renewing of the soul-mind is the mind catching up with the facts of what happened in spirit the moment you believed. The mind takes time to get it renewed, there is alot of trouble and frustration in trying to get the mind renewed. You will encounter many distractions along the way but be of good cheer your father will lead you, trust him, do what you know to do that is right, stay in the word even if you don't feel like it at times it is your life-line, it will open up to every hungry heart.
