And the Lord said, “Go!”
And I replied, “Who, me?”
And He said, “Yes, You!”
And I whined, “But surely not now? I’m busy with work, my family needs me, and I have a full schedule.”
And He said, “You’re stalling!”

And the Lord said, “Go!”
And I demurred, “But I don’t WANT to.”
And He said, “I didn’t ask if you wanted to.”

And I said, “I’m surely not the best person for this. And, besides, my family won’t like it, and what will my friends think?”
And He said, “Sorry, not impressed.”

And the Lord said, “Go!”
And I sighed, ”Must I really?”
And He replied, “Do you love me.”
And I said, “Look, I’m scared. People will hate me and cut me up into little pieces. How am I going to manage?”
And He said, “Where do you think I’ll be?”

And the Lord said, “Go!”
And I said, “Here I am, Lord: Send me.”
