I know that others must have preached on this in the past, but it seems as though very few have ever taken the time to study the context of Jesus' words "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Many people think they have been set free, but continue to live in sin, Jesus stated "whoever sins is a servant to sin", do people care at all about what Jesus teaches, or are they just interested in using the bible and Jesus to live in a state of delusion, while they amass sin upon sin: with no turning from them? What say you?

i say that when you forgive these sins of others, you will be forgiven. "There is an advantage to overlooking a matter" iow. All are deceived. So if you see sin, then that is more a reflection of self than others, possibly.

Might you be looking at it wrong? Maybe forgiving others is about being free from what causes man to sin and not about accepting man in his sins.

Doesnt say you will be free from sin,

    Rom_3:9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Rom_8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

I have never met a sinless Christian and never will, at least not till we arew al lchanged in te htwinkling of an eye.

i have to agree. Every single thing you ever do is going to piss someone or other off, and be deemed "sin" by someone. I seriously doubt that this can be escaped
hmm. seems to me that Christ forgave us as sinners, and i am not sure how you might be "free from what causes man to sin," tbh. Sounds like perfectionism.Or maybe a better way to phrase that is how do you interpret 11...and his virtue is to overlook an offense?

Actually Jesus stated exactly that. You might want to slow down and take a good hard look at his words, John 8:31 "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35And the servant/slave abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Jesus clearly just stated: if you abide in my word you will know the truth and the truth will set you free from being a servant to sin.

Jesus pissed a lot of people off. I think we should be worried about what God thinks, not people.

In one place Jesus is reported to have stated: if any man will do his will, he will know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

I suggest that only a person committed to the practice of the teachings of Christ, can and will know the truth of Christ's words.

Tell me now, have you stopped sinning????

Can you even tell me what sin is... Our definition and Gods are vastly different. But here you come as so many christans do telling us not to do teh one thing that everyone does and will do till our flesh is dead. Chritians so troubled by sin, which speaks of lack of faith in that waht christ did.

Is it right when non-Christians are more virtuous than Christians? It is shameful, and can not be the way God intended.
The only conclusion I can draw from that is Christian's aren't living up to expectations.

    Whos expectations? Our or His.

    For everyone

    I ask this question

Which man is qualified to condemn another of sin?? Which christian on this earth is perfect and without sin, and is able to condemn another, for to call a man a sinner is to condemn that man, no differnt than standing before a judge and telling him this man is a thief. To do so one must stand on the side of teh accuser, for to call any man a sinner no matter what teh circumstance is to make an accusation.. Now who is the accuser??? Jesus or teh devil??? Whos side are you on??

Who does evil Jesus or the devil? Whose side are you on? In 2John 3 we are told: "whoever sins is of the devil". Do you claim to be a follower of Christ and then speak against his words, when he states ,whoever sins is a slave to sin"? Can you not see that you have erred from Christ's teachings?

the problem there as i see it is that all that anyone need do to be considered accepted is to state that they are committed to Christ.

And here we go again people who loves to contradict scripture. Why will you not honour God?
Why do you look fotr fault continually like a pharisee?
Why is it God calls us sons. Joint aires with Christ. Holy . Sanctified, justified and YOU want to bring down?
If God siad I am no longer a slave to sin thats what I am.
You can wallow in your low self esteem if you like. But if you continue to contradict scripture and bring down people who except who they are in Christ. You are guilty of holding back the children of God. Now for your own good shut your face and stop the work od satan, You have no idea and continue to ASSUME THE ROLE OF TEACHER. Stop it, You completly clueless. Now please dont assume again that I am hurt. as soon as you chide anyone in here they say why you hurt. I aint. You cant hurt me. I am dead to self and your comments deeds and lifestyle can not hurt me or undermine my concern and love for MAN. All men including you. You are hurting your self with this hypocrisy, and the brethern. Total ignarance on your part. Just die already to self. It starts today. But No you will be all hurt because you are full of self and pity for self. so you will come back so predictably with a whole post telling me how you are correct and I am wrong.

    John 8
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Knowing the truth will set you free from the bondage of the Old Covenant. Knowing the truth will not make you blameless.

    No one is without sin.

Jesus was adam and eve where for a period.
Why would Jesus tell people go and sin no more if it were not possible?

Wow. This post from you sounds like you think I am Wormwood, one of the moderators.
But, if you are responding to me, as I guess you are, I'll stop commenting on your posts.
As far as I'm concerned , I do not "ASSUME THE ROLE OF TEACHER". Could never be one.
I will "shut my face" as you request.
