I guess some areas of downtown Detroit are being or have been renovated.
But I read an article some years back that there was white flight from Detroit....crime, etc. So many homes were abandoned and neglected so the city had to bulldoze everything down.
So there were actually many fields growing in the city because so much had been torn down to the ground. It was like a ghost town.
