And the comments are telling. I think the mother was responsible, she gave the child the hot nuggets and drove away and did not make sure the child was safe with the food beforehand, the food spilled on her leg. Then records the kid screaming.

A comment over there said the mcnuggats got wedged between seat belt and her leg. maybe a child's skin is thin. I think the award is absurd.

Trouble is ......the attorney takes 40% plus. If Mom had health insurance that is good. But, she pays deductables out of her own pocket. I got hit by the top of the trailer of a semi, two years ago. He flipped over and the trailer slid across the road and took me off the road. Destroyed my car on the passenger side. Attorney asked what I wanted in the settlement. "Give me a $100,000 check and you figure out the rest, your fee and medical from the total amount ......but I get $100,000 clear. I got 28,000 after all said and done. I told him "I'll never use you again. Truck driver on the phone, takes the corner too fast, arguing with his fiance and you settle for nothing ....." Hey, at least I made the 6PM news ....." Blocked traffic for hours. One of the firemen came and got me .....You didn't hit a wall at 200 mph .....the wall hit you." In the top of trailer was the impact points of my car. We had twelve witnesses.

Mom didn't make that much money ......Sad thing about this? Her little girl will not see a dime saved for college or anything else. Wonder what all Mom gets ......

This is IMO like the Twinkie defense; absurd!
Mom should have been held liable for child endangerment or negligence.

Crazy, of course the mothers responsible

Would McDonald's have been responsible for hot coffee that was given to the mother also?

Once it was handed to the mother (Guardian) it was her responsibility to secure the supposed danger
