Do you fret yourself because you are not doing more for me? That you feel as if you are doing nothing for me? You must remember that it is I who gave you your life. Your place. Your means.

You and your life are not a mistake. If you will spend all the time seeking me that you spend condemning yourself for not saving the world you will be blessed. You cannot save anyone. As you are directed by my spirit you can draw others to me by moving upon what I tell you in your closet.

Resting completely in me means laying down your own desire to go and do. You can do nothing without me. I say you can do nothing at all without me. It is not and never shall be done by your might. By your power. By your flesh. All is by my spirit. Who is it that wills? That says and it comes to pass when I have not commanded it? Dead works minister only death.

Go into all the world at my direction. By the guidance of my spirit. Not by edict of religion. Edicts of men fail because they are not borne in love. Men cannot be still.

They are filled with dead works and planting of fruitless dead stick vineyards. Only by my spirit is my love carried. Be still and you will hear the simplest things I say that carry great power. The simplicity of my ways continues to confound men. They seek the complex, the difficult. I will direct your paths. I will show you ways. Be still and believe that I formed and molded your life. I direct the entire creation and all that it contains. From the furthest reach of the universe and the heavens to the cricket outside your window. All is mine as you are mine.

I am ever close to those that seek my face. That seek me as a dying man that thirsts for water. Run to me and I will run to you.

Stay close to me. Do not see yourself as on the edge of a great crowd that surrounds me. See yourself as John with your head on my bosom. My bosom is great enough for every believer, for every follower that longs to be close to me.

Not a word shall be spoken yet you will know what to do, how to walk, where to turn, when to turn as you seek me with your whole heart. We will walk as one.
I am the Lord and there is no other. Amen

Thank you for posting that Frank , the line ' do not see yourself as on the edge of a great crowd that surrounds me ' is how I often see myself standing - not quite sure how to see myself as John !!!!

I was a bit wild in my younger days, and found my movement somewhat restricted for awhile by law enforcement. During that time of incarceration, the administration daily broadcast a short, encouraging, moral lesson from a series by Earl Nightingale, entitled "Be Still and Know."

It had a lot of good to say, but one thing stood out. We were not told that we would be "Told" what to do through some magic voice in our heads. But rather, we would "Know" the more logical and morally correct path to follow.

I just hope that not too much is being expected in this thread, possibly leading to a considerable disappointment to some people in the future.

Stay close to me. Do not see yourself as on the edge of a great crowd that surrounds me. See yourself as John with your head on my bosom. My bosom is great enough for every believer, for every follower that longs to be close to me.

In one church I was in, the pastor always prayed the same thing when he was praying for someone. His words were. "Stay close to him/her..."

I was always puzzled by that as Jesus said he would NEVER leave us or forsake us. Which means of course that he was always close to us. That being the case, why did the pastor ask Jesus to stay close if he has already promised to stay close.

And I don't think that God would say something that has already been promised. Which as we all know he is incapable of breaking.

One final thought. If I am not on Jesus "bosom" because I am tending to the needs of someone else or teaching a class, does that mean I am not close to him?

Having said all that, I am not sure that all of the supposed prophecy was from God. I think there was a bit of man in it.

Know that you do have friends here at all times. Sometimes we too are weak but hopefully also on the approach to that perfection which can be seen in the Father by those with eyes to see.

I know that there are a few friends here. Sadly where there should be encouragement there is only strife. Not having a church we are isolated from Christians except for my Christian family. I refuse to engage in strife with those attempting to prove they are more spiritual, know Greek and Hebrew, etc.

We have survived many years with only Jesus at our side. God bless everyone that has love and good will for others. At present I am walking through the valley of the shadow but trust I will walk on and not stay there. Amen

Anywhere you go or stay Frank there is likely to be trouble. I have been in several church groups as a member over the years. In each one I learned something good about God, but God also brought me out each one of them for His reasons. I saw reasons myself but I never really left for those reasons alone. Only when led away by God did I leave. Give God the glory!

There are lots of smart people who have learned well the details you mention [Greek and Hebrew, etc.] without apparently learning what things really always need to be first. Or, some know in their heads what should be first but are unwilling or unable to act correctly upon that knowledge. The answer is, and always must be, God's answer rather than our own. You have had some very trying experiences which would have caused many people to quit on God... but you would not. Most of the time you have not allowed your head to get swelled up over it. It is very easy to pat yourself on the back for doing it right, as I am sure you already know.

Sometimes God might use a person's head knowledge to accomplish His goals, but if we don't have more than head knowledge we have no real hope, do we?

I am keeping you and yours in prayer.

This is understandable, who wants to see the strife, let alone when you are facing a trial. Please stay in touch with the encouragers and prayer warriors at least. There is a time when even the slightest relief is a huge blessing.

No offense meant Frank, I know you are good hearted, but wadr the illness of a loved one does not = "valley of the shadow," either ok, sorry. If I were to really reply to every warped line of that post you would prolly cry, ok. It's full to the brim with defeatist crap Frank. Examine the fortress you have constructed imo, and lay down your arms, Frank, ok. Or continue your quest to save yourself, and seeking Death More Abundantly if you like, but know the cost ok.

Obv the death of a "saved" loved one should be a joyous occasion for someone who holds that belief, shouldn't it?

The deadness and coldness in churches today brings me to tears. We saw the great move of God in the 70's and 80's when every church we visited seemed on fire.

My son has tried many churches and they all seem like social clubs. Very little about the cross, the blood and the savior or preached. It's like the denominational churches on TV that I turn across to see what they are saying. Mostly boring speeches without a hint of anointing. I just shake my head.

I like Paul am perplexed at how life goes. Since childhood I've been a loner not drawn to crowds or clubs or gatherings. Churches were great until the spirit of God pulled back.

Our old time church had the leaders get their eyes off God an onto the world chasing after a "TV ministry". This by a pastor who God gave a brand new lung in an A. A. Allen tent service. Gene Mullenax's testimony can be viewed on YouTube. I'm certain that later he became aware of his failure.

One night in those last years of the 70's the lord gave me a dream about that formerly wonderful place. I was standing outside with other men waiting for church to start. The pastor drove up and said he was too busy to attend then drove away. Then a man said "I have a schefflera tree that's dying. What can I do"?

A voice from somewhere replied "if it's dead then strip off the branches and throw it into the fire". I knew that formerly anointed church was in it's death throes.

That church died. My wife and I stood and were grim spectators to the leaving of God's anointing. The music got louder and sermons lifeless. We were broken hearted. That was 40 years ago and we've never seen an anointed time such as it was. Miracles were frequent including ours. You old timers like me saw these things all over this land. I feel for all who have not had the wonderful spirit filled services that were common in those days of true God sent revival. Shall we have another? God knows.

Now we also see the beginnings of the end for America. Hordes of unbelievers screaming against all good and cheering the evil. Evicting God who formed this nation from every single institution, forbidding our children to pray or read the Bible in schools. They even rise up against the land that nourished them forbidding the pledge of allegiance. After decades we saw the fall of communism and now the young and ignorant cry out for socialism. That even after watching Argentina melt down to starvation.

We who are fixed to follow as disciples must stand strong in him and his words. Let he who stands take heed lest he fall.

I've felt for a long time that our separation was for a purpose. We cleave to him with our might and he has kept us praise God. He will keep you as you cleave to him. Amen. Churches we used to visit we now observe the deadness, the flip attitudes, the worldliness. I realize that there are many who see and discern these things. Stand fast in the liberty wherewith christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the worlds yoke of bondage. Amen

My wife's denominational friend from high school is a methodist. She started to leave that church when homosexuals were allowed in, even as pastors. She liked the church and "fellowship" so now has accepted them. She is saying "surely Jesus in his love will forgive them." She LAUGHED at my wife's stern admonition to cleave to the Bible and that evil and righteousness cannot be BEDFELLOWS. Sharing communion with these is now accepted practice. Evil by little and little creeps in like a serpent. Her son is an Episcopal priest. That church of Ba'al "ordains" homosexual "priests" also. How the mighty have fallen.

As a outside observer I weep for the horrible condition of America's churches. They have fallen so far and no one stands to tell them. You will indeed become a prey if you stand against them. Joining with the church of Ba'al so as not to be alone is a vain effort. Without the savior you are truly alone.

About a year or two ago the Lord began to deal with me about men's denominations. He said "man indeed worships the creation more than the creator. They worship not my creations but the works of their own hands and minds, the denominations they create to push aside my ways and words. They love their traditions and doctrines more than me or my words". The very things Jesus spoke against when he walked the streets of Jerusalem. Amen

Proverbs 16:25 KJVS
There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Amen

I'd never ever been impressed with this so strongly. Denominations either preach part of the gospel in truth and deny the remainder or pervert the entire message. They remove songs that mention the blood the cross and death of Jesus as being "to harsh and offensive". A half truth is a whole lie I've heard. Also beware of half truths... You might get the wrong half. Amen

We desperately need some old time fire and brimstone prophets to blast dead dogma from those that think they are right with God such as my wife's friend who said "they're not so bad" and the church pianist is a homosexual. If that church were RIGHT the messages would either drive out the ungodly or cause them to fall before the altar and cry out for mercy and forgiveness. Only the mighty rushing wind of the Holy Spirit can blow away the dross covered churches that are lukewarm or dead and re I've them to God life.

I'd much rather be alone with Jesus than stand in a congregation of Ba'al worshippers and say "they're not so bad". It will not be a back slapping office. As is biblical believers, followers of Jesus Christ will be in the rejected minority. God will see that you stand strong if you are faithful.

Brethren beware, troubled times are upon us and not a time of wealth and prosperity as the TV preachers and mega church leaders tell their cheerleaders. Yes God helps, prospers us but if that is our goal then our hearts are wrong.

I pray we all remain faithful and strong in the Lord until our time is done. Amen

1 Peter 5:8 KJVS
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

I pray that I may exhort and encourage you in following hard after God. Which of us can say I'm as close to God as can be? Certainly not me.

I also have the spirit of God by his Holy Spirit and we all must go forward as one after the master. Amen

Is it the cloistered "Church's" job to repeat and repeat again, the basic Gospel to the already initiated? Or is it to encourage and further educate those same Christians, who then go outside and preach the Gospel? When I attended college, I would have felt cheated if the Professors taught elementary arithmetic and basic grammar.
