Why did the Apostle Paul never mention anything Jesus did when he walked the earth. No miracle's, nothing about his family, no healings, nothing but the death, burial, and resurrection is ever mentioned. That is a very strong point in Paul's understanding of grace. You cannot have pure grace before the cross, pure grace was non existent in the world before the cross. What was Paul's fear and trembling in ministry? Why was he determined to know nothing but Christ (in him) and him crucified that he would say "I am with you in fear and trembling."
You will not have to follow Paul very long to realize he was the greatest psychologist that ever lived (other than Jesus). He is the first to tell us man is triune (body soul and spirit). What do you need to know to make you the greatest psychologist that ever lived. It seems simple now because we have it written, but Paul did not read it from a book. What made him the greatest is he knew what made human beings tick so to say. He knew man was triune and that was going to be the dividing line of all knowledge. Knowing how the father was going to handle humanity by their creation.
By the revelation Paul preached there would be a division for proper understanding. Example: the scriptures say you must divide soul and spirit. Why is that so important? Because we did not know it was our soul and spirit the made us who we are. You cannot know expression without recognizing where it comes from. You can live your life all the days of your life and not know where expression comes from. Soul is the organ of expression, it expresses who it is. Your own creation is the way you express who you are.
Your spirit makes you who you are and soul expresses spirit. Spirit has no expression it just is, it is kind of like a aura that is about people, they put off an aura they have an aura about them. That is soul and spirit coming into being. You cannot see a sin nature but you can see it's manifestations. So the Apostle tells believers they will need to divide soul and spirit. You know what that means? It means soul and spirit can and must be divided.
Following Paul into knowledge will be the greatest mind renewal a believer can come to because Paul will take you inside the mind of Christ so you can live. Understanding means; you have the mind of another, you see things through the eyes of another, you have their mind for understanding. What does the bible say about understanding? It says "above all get understanding."
Another scripture says to "bind it about your neck," you wear it like a piece of jewelry. Glory!
