Romans 13:14 (NKJV)
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to [fulfill its] lusts.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This newness one is to put on, for both these scriptures are pointing to the same truth, that being, the new birth coming to life in one’s life…. For there is one thing that stands in the way of one receiving, experiencing and enjoying this ‘all things are new’, and that is the lack of belief that God is willing to give it…
For there being some doubt in the goodness of God pointed towards one has the heart, the mind, the will, some doubt, rather then the desire, hope, and belief in the new that God is willing to give…. For the new is exactly that, something that is foreign to the old creation, something that it is impossible for the old creation to fulfill, this being the very expression of righteousness itself in all things….
For those that have the new birth it is only the lack of belief in the possibility of it that limits one’s experiencing of the new life… Because all things did become new when Christ took us to death with Him, now one knowing one’s need of this new life is the limiting factor of one experiencing it… For the heart and will are the gate keepers in life, one can only have that which their heart and will embraces…
For self seeing itself through the eyes of the old creation is all self can do, it can not be fixed or brought into subjection by the strength of its own earthly properties…. For putting one’s hope in anything but the free gift of God, is putting hope of one’s salvation in the wisdom of what own will can come up with, that being, something one’s self can do… This seeing and wanting and believing into this free gift of the newness of all things, is that which one is to put on, this free gift of the new life found in Christ Jesus…
The needing of it, births the wanting of it, the wanting of it, births the knowing of it, the knowing of it, births the faith in it, the faith in it, births the receiving of it, the receiving of it, births the joy of experiencing this all things are new, because Jesus did die, because God is willing….
That is a mouthful of truth (Meat) many have a hard time digesting. Reminds me of the following verse...
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
The riches of his grace the deep things of God, the gifts of the Spirit are there for us, we just need believe that God is willing.
Good Post.
