6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

When we pull apart from Christ and do our own thing what ever that may be - we separate ourselves from him who is our life. What is that? It is what scripture say we can do as a believer in living according to the flesh (mind given to body) in separating ourselves as Christians from Christ who is my only life. He will not leave you but you have taken the mind and given it to body to do your own thing and separated yourself from the only life you have. You know it - some can live in that state and some are miserable because of the separation. Separation is always temporary and always restorable on behalf of a believer (wife). It is like a husband and wife who have to separate because of the circumstances that come up in a marriage.
We don't look at ourselves as a wife in a since because we want to be the conquerors. Conquering is the mind in compatibility with the husband (Christ Spirit joined to the spirit of the believer spirit) and a proper marriage is worked out in mind as the believer wife grows up into the knowledge of who they are. I am who I am by a proper birth (believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross). A proper birth is; when you believed - you were taken out of Adam and placed in Christ'. Adam is killed - crucified on the cursed tree (Golgotha) and believing on that cursed tree and what it did for humanity gives me a new start with a new life - old man out (Adam dead in Christ) and new man in (Christ who is the only life-the only truth-the only way).
The moment you believe because you are in Adam and Adam is dead and when you believe you are put in Christ and that takes care of Adam. Now the renewal begins (despise not the day of small beginnings). That is probably not the right scripture but it is THE day you begin to get renewal whether you know it or not. Because the schoolhouse that brought you to Christ' is now going to work on behalf of the training in "the making of a son." So the training begins such as when we do our own thing "and a certain man had two son's" and the one son that took all he had coming to him was left with nothing but the husks of the swine and begin to talk to himself " if I could only get back to my father's house." Glory to God.
You know what the best thing that can happen to a believer that takes their inheritance and begins to squander; they start to talk to them selves - because your father wants you but if you need to sew your wild oats or just plain ignorant of the things of your father then you need to learn because he wants you in his house because of love - that all powerful reciprocating love that exists between a father and a son. They love each other and they want to be in each other's house they don't need rebel rousing because it is their joy and pleasure to be in each other's company and the love works both ways and is reciprocating.
That means it goes back and forth, The Father loves me and I love the Father with the same kind of love. What did Jesus say over and over "I love my Father." That is reciprocating love "the Father that loved the Son and the Son that loves the Father. I am more than pleased to do the Father's will. It is by "the will of the Father" Jesus came and gave His life for the Father's will. It was his pleasure because he knew when he came he would have to die for the Father because it was the Father's will.
My spirit is fixed by the life in me (husband Christ), the only life in me. That is the fixing of spirit; Christ is the only life of the believer - as soon as the believer wife can see spirit (who they are) - the sooner it comes around into proper understanding because it does not exist alone it exists by him and by him only. Remember what Paul wrote and quoted as clear and plain as possible when he said - "I am (first Adam) crucified with Christ (second Adam)." Have a blessed day saint's.
