"A proposal by a Roman Catholic bishop in the Netherlands that people of all faiths refer to God as "Allah" is not sitting well with the Catholic community.Tiny Muskens, an outgoing bishop who is retiring in a few weeks from the southern diocese of Breda, said God doesn't care what he is called."Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn't we all say that from now on we will name God Allah? ... What does God care what we call him? It is our problem," Muskens told Dutch television."I'm sure his intentions are good but his theology needs a little fine-tuning," said Father Jonathan Morris, a Roman Catholic priest based in Rome. Morris, a news analyst for FOX News Channel, also called the idea impractical."Words and names mean things," Morris said. "Referring to God as Allah means something."Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington, D.C.-based Islamic civil liberties and advocacy group, backs the idea as a way to help interfaith understanding."It reinforces the fact that Muslims, Christians and Jews all worship the same God," Hooper told FOXNews.com. "I don't think the name is as important as the belief in God and following God's moral principles. I think that's true for all faiths."Christians who are Arabic speakers speak of Allah when they speak of God, Hooper added."There's not a theological leap to make on the part of Christians," Hooper said. The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago supports the idea.“I think it will open up doors,” said Janaan Hashim, a spokeswoman for the group representing more than 400,000 Muslim Americans in the Chicago area. “Language is a man-made limitation. I think what God cares about is how we fulfill our purpose in life.”The nation’s largest Catholic civil rights group says Catholics won't get behind the proposal.“Bishop Martinus “Tiny” Muskens can pray to “Allah” all he wants, but only addlepated Catholics will follow his lead,” Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, said in a statement. “It is not a good sign when members of the Catholic hierarchy indulge in a fawning exchange with Muslims, or those of any other religion.”Muskens spent eight years in Indonesia, where he said priests used the word "Allah" during Mass.Muskens also has drawn attention for other ideas such as encouraging the hungry to steal bread and offering condoms to combat HIV and AIDS.FOXNews.com's Melissa Drosjack and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

It sounds to me to be an attempt by Muskens and others like him to start a one world religion, something I believe will be introduced during the Tribulation times. We are slowly giving way to the minority groups that are attempting to delute Christanity in this country, first it was take "In God we trust" off of our coins, Then take "One nation under God" out of our pledge of allegance, Then Take the bibles out of public schools, The Pope even wants to make Mary co-equal with Jesus as our Mediator between God and man.As for me and my house ,We will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)

Is someone purposely coming up with these absolutely pea brain ideas. The Catholic church would only serve to prove themselves false in the truth of Christ to even think such a thing possible. The usa had England with their benefits and ways implemented and we know the banks own all countries and now people can only have their wages paid in to accounts in England including benefits. They are stopping cheque payments in the stores also. Once they control your money they control your spending and know where you are.And no one is doing a thing about it. Even the criminal system is being shut down, the one element that could cause them problems are being brought into line. The fraud thing isn't to keep us safe it is to keep us prisoners. The same with the drugs how did you think they keep getting into every country. This is about world domination not world safety.Faith should now be about doing the things God has planned learning to see through spiritual eyes and not flesh. For that is where the believers help lies.Everything about you can be found on the goverments data basis. You are no longer your own person with your private rights.Faithful.

Kriss is able to speak for herself, but in this case I want to add my thoughts to your comments. And my thoughts are simply this: I think whatever Kriss said, you misunderstood her. Now, I'll give you my perspective, which I believe is similar to Kriss'. The Law is God's righteous standard. It is not done away with. When we say we are not "under" the Law, that is the CURSE of the Law. In other words, instead of trying to self-righteously keep it ourselves to gain God's approval, it is now thru the finished work of Christ. However, the STANDARDS of that righteousness is the same. For example, I know no abolishment of the Law "Thou shalt not kill" In fact, Jesus "added" to it by claiming if you are even angry at your brother (for undue cause) that you are in effect a murderer.

"by ABOLISHING in His flesh the LAW of COMMANDMENTS and [the law of] ORDINANCES"...Ephesians 2:15.Christianity has to get serious, these are the last days. Christianity has always been under the "strong delusion" (just like the rest of humanity) because it always found satan to be a convenient scapegoat to blame evil on.Christianity has always been in the habit of INTERPRETATION (as though the meaning of scripture should be a personal 'point of view', but scripture is not dependent on one's own interpretation (2 Peter 1:20), we should "UNDERSTAND" ,not INTERPRET or rationalize (Matthew 13:19).TRUE worshippers (GODLY Christians, not the multitudes who CALL themselves "Christian"), have to learn to love and 'stomach' (accept) the objective truth "AND SO BE SAVED" (2 Thessalonians 2:10). The 'sin laws' were ABOLISHED (Ephesians 2:15).When we accept responsibility for our own actions (CONSCIENCE...the tree that Adam and Eve ate from, the knowledge we need to learn properly, Hebrews 5:14) and establish our own identity/individuality, then we can truly relate to "I am who I am" (Exodus 3:14) on a PERSONal level (and He with us, His spirit "yearns jealously" (James 4:5). There should be no "self abasement"/abatement (Colossians 2:18 and 23).The "strong delusion" is NOT a future event, neither is it only for the less educated. The strong delusion has been in effect all throughout history. Humanity (including Christianity) still thinks that the bible is the word of God (SPECIFICALLY, it contains words that God spoke up until two thousand years ago), it is the "word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15, Ephesians 1:13, John 14:6), it is the INTRODUCTORY doctrine of Jesus (Hebrews 6:1), but it is not the word that we should LIVE BY (Matthew 4:4). We should "walk by the SPIRIT" (Galatians 5:16 and 25).We are "under the law of LIBERTY" (James 2:12) and our love should be made PERFECT (1 John 4:18) so that our attitude toward God does not include fear (God is not a punisher). TRUE Christianity is not a 'faith', it is a LOVE (God is love, the "GREATEST of these", 1 Corinthians 13:13).God knows there are MANY reasons in this world to get angry. He says "BE ANGRY, but do not sin"/commit wrongdoing (Ephesians 4:26).Even though the sin laws were abolished, it is important to realize how the word "sin" has always been used. Sinning against PROPRIETY (dress codes, codes of etiquette, table manners, etc.) has always been unavoidable. Sinning "against HEAVEN" (as the prodigal son did)may sometimes be considered a victimless crime (like cheating on a test), but sinning against another PERSON causes pain and suffering (pain and suffering is what we should care about most and have 'tears of SORROW' compassion..."rivers of living water", John 7:38, Revelation 7:16) in our heart (sorrow makes us sad/"poor in spirit", Matthew 5:3). Many simply FOLLOW Jesus out of "hunger", but we must "thirst" for and "drink" of God's spirit and the "depths of God" (1 Corinthians 2:10), then we can have our conscience purified also (Hebrews 9:14). There is a DEEPER message in scripture (it is NOT found in "parables", Matthew 13:13) Christianity has always felt comfortable with secular thinking and the teaching from "hirelings" (John 10:13), but we need to "enter by the door" (John 10:1) and "HEAR" His voice (John 10:27).True worshipers can and should be independent from man's institutional churches that depend on money, home churches (like the first century church) are sufficient for group worship (the economic crisis will emphasize this point).God should be known as "ABBA FATHER" (not MASTER, Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:6) and we should be "FRIEND of God" like Abraham. All verses are from the RSV.

This thread seems to be plagued with ignorance.Allah is merely the Arabic word for God.Yemenite Jews also pray to Allah. As do Maronite Christians, and most other Arab Christians, including the Chaladeans. It's no different than using the word "God" in English.

Ah, you are seemingly ignoring the fact that Allah has nothing to do with Christ. In fact Allah is everything against Christ.

Allah is just the word for God, it was used even before Islam. Why is it against Christ to use the word God? That's all they are doing, except in the Arabic language. If you lived in Lebanon, when you prayed to God you would use Allah. The God portrayed in Islam is different to Christianity, but using the word Allah isn't Islam exclusive. It's been used to refer to God. That's it.

Show me prove that Allah was used before Islam. In fact the name of the real God is name YHVH...Allah is a false god, whom Muhammad has created and destroyed the Truth of Christ in the process. My God is not Allah. My God can not even attack the Truth of Christ.

Goodness me. Allah is just the word for God in Arabic. It's like using "God" in English instead of Elohim or the various other names of God in Hebrew and Greek, of course I'm not going to object to other languages using their own word for God. "Gott" in German, "Dia" in Irish. In the Arabic Bible they even use Allah as the word for God.Here's the link to prove it: http://au.christiantoday.com/article/allah...ounded/3707.htm

But, what about the Arab Christians who use the word "Allah" in services. Or read "Allah" on the pages of their Arabic Bible? Are you claiming these are heretics?
