Hey Friends, I am transitioning into a time in my life where I am starting to really Miss my childhood. There is something about It that is so great. (I grew up Very late 90s and Early 2000s) I Miss all of the things I grew up watching. I even keep alot of pictures of me and my family when I was a kid. I loved going to see WCW Live and Watching old NBA. This saddens me because I feel like I will not remember these things when I get to heaven. I really dont want that at all. I want to look back at all these things.

Now you can see these memories were very precious to me. Do you think we will be able to reminess about our childhood When we get to heaven?

Hi Warrior, sometimes I find myself missing "The good old days" as it were, simply because times were much simpler then without much of the horror that we see today. If I would choose a favorite era it would be the 60's and 70's.However, I don't think we will be longing for anything in Heaven except to worship and bask in God's glory...It's all gonna be about Him and memories of life on earth will not compare to worshipping Him. "This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it"...each day on earth should be the making of the good old days :)

Im afraid its not like that for me. I cant make good days now. It was only my childhood and only will be. I really hope I can keep my family pictures or at least be able to go through everything in my life again :(

Give it twenty years - I am sure you will look back to today and produce more fond memories.

Nostalgia always idealizes the past.

I believe we are called to live in the present moment.

Hey Warrior!

I read in another thread you are 16, I am also. I miss the younger years, too, but am looking forward to what God has planned for me.

I was curious to know why you believe the way you do? Since you brought it up I thought it would be ok to ask.

It's nice to meet you!

God bless!

As Children of God, your power into the beyond is more than magnificent.
All things are yours. Everything belongs to you. Past, present, future... Everywhere, everyone everything every occasion that has ever occurred... all are yours forever.
So also is everyone else's life and thoughts and feelings and memories yours.
There is nothing you will ever lose.
There is everything you will have :)
It is beyond anything you can imagine how awesome that you will never think back on things you now think of.
The transformation is more than a caterpillar to a butterfly.
Jesus has an incredible future for us
Do we have an incredible "now" with Him?
Then we will find ourselves speaking His Name to everyone around us hehe. And such a record in Heaven is your Name written.

Blessings my young brothers!

(1Co 3:21) Wherefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours;
(1Co 3:22) whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
(1Co 3:23) and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.

Well, Ever since I was little I always was a heavy thinker. everything I ever see, There is deep meaning and thought to it when I see it. I am a very thoughtful guy. Now that I am 16, out of school, away from people, no friends, I have alot of time to look back on all the things that made my Childhood Excellent. I loved old NBA And WWF and Old Cartoons from my childhood. I want to be able to look back on these things big time. I dont want them to just be erased from existence. I want to remember these things and reminisce in Heaven.

If you don't mind me asking, how come you don't go to school?

Why do you think all your memories will be erased? It reminds me of Men in Black. :)

I left the Highschool for GED Classes, Which was a big mistake on my part, Lost contact with my 12 year best friend. Anyways, I saw somewhere in the bible that it says Old things pass away and shall not come into mind, does that mean memories, or Old things like possesions and pain?

I know which one you're talking about, I think it's in Isaiah. Warrior, the glory that will be revealed will be nothing like we have ever seen, everything will seem miniscule iinthe light of his glory!

What do you think the Lord has planned for you now that you're finished with school?

Hey Warrior!

Do you have anything you like to do? Hobbies?

Those are good goals, I can see myself doing the same.
Sports, Even though I never play them lol. Drawing, Video games. If I ever get a life then my real personality will come out

That's cool, I like hockey and football. I played hockey for awhile but the time commitment was intense and it didn't work with myother activities.

What is stopping you from 'having a life'?

Overzealous Internet preachers stopped me form having a life. All they ever talk about is going to hell and the world ending how depressing. lol maybe they dont have a life. Leaving the highschool is also the reason i have no life. I have no friends. Not even one.

-- I would tend to agree with Aspen.
If the life we have right now is not what we had hoped, we tend to look at the past through rose-colored glasses.

But if you take a serious look back and remember the feelings, fears, insecurities, etc. that you had at that time, reality sets in...

Warrior,
The reality is God has bigger plans for you but you might need to be the one making the move. I am of the mindset that God doesn't hand us everything on a silver platter, and I am NOT saying you believe this. Not at all.

What I am saying is that maybe if you pray to God and ask Him to place you in the center of His will and show you the steps to take, that this might be better for you to do than what you are doing.

Just a suggestion though.

Warrior, I believe you.
I had a very happy childhood, insulated from the world by living in a very small town in a rural state.

As I entered Jr. High and High School I had some difficulties in relationships and self-confidence that made my time difficult.
Today, I look back at the lack of responsibilities, the freedoms, the girlfriends, etc. etc. etc. and it seems like it was the time of my life, but when I look deeper I remember it was not all sunshine and rainbows. Not by a long shot.

Yeah I know that I messed up with my time in Jr high and High school. I dont like to think about it, But My Childhood, man I Hope to God that I can remember all this stuff when I go home. Im not saying that Heaven wont be fun, Im just saying that It would feel Completely unfair to have my memories completely stripped away from me. It should be like this..........Bad memories wiped away, but good memories stay for eternity
