Secular Humanism in the Christian churches is not Christians coming short of our calling to glory and virtue of God, but is the practice of progressive secular humanism taught by grace.
Becoming sons of God with power to live righteously and blamelessly in this life, is abandoned as unattainable perfectionism, and replaced instead with a neighborly progressiveness of believing sinners, that now only seek to do more good than evil while on earth.
Atheist secular humanism, being classic liberalism of old, is the belief that man can become better and better by their own goodness, without any God.
The results are the same: they are all neighborly sinners seeking to do more good than evil, but without any desire nor hope of becoming righteous and holy altogether, which they both declare is impossible.
The only difference between the atheist and christian secular humanists, of course, is one claims there is no God nor need of God's grace to become progressively more good, and the other names the name of Christ with need of grace to become progressively more good.
And both speak the same way: they both say they are by no means perfect, nor always good on the outside, but their hearts are still good on the inside, one without God, and the other with grace.
And they are both correct with the same results: The atheists do not have God, but a goodness of their own, and the christians do not have the grace of God, but a grace of their own, and so they are both gracious.
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
The grace of God is only with the righteous in Christ Jesus, who need Jesus' help daily not to be doing evil at all.
The grace of Jesus is not for a race of better and better secular humanism.
And none of the secular humanists claim to be in any godly race at all, While the atheists say there is no such racing with faith, the christians say they have already won it by grace.
