I'm curious if any of you have heard of him and what you think about him. I'm not asking anyone to judge him, that's for God to do, but there is a lot of controversy surrounding him. You can check out his website at http://claytonjennings.com/. He sells apparel and books there which some people say he shouldn't be doing. I think it's OK if he uses the money to glorify God. He travels around the country preaching and even recently went to Africa and preached there. He even gave out food while he was there. He has a YouTube channel with tons of videos. I watched one of his sermons and it brought me to tears. You can watch it at https://youtu.be/C2BR7w8Tb3I. I don't want to follow someone who is just doing for for their benefit. It's hard for me to tell with him. What are your thoughts.

Hi brother Joe!
I have not heard of this man before but I listened to the first link and a small part of the second. His message is concise and relevant for this generation. He has made the gospel message real to his hearers, like a firebrand plucked from the fire, his passion for salvation of souls is overwhelmingly evident.

I don't want to follow someone who is just doing for for their benefit. It's hard for me to tell with him. What are your thoughts.
There is always going to be levels of temptations for those who wish to follow Jesus...hopefully he will not be tempted towards financial security rather than what God has begun in him which is to lead people to salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

I am curious though...why would you want to follow him when he is a messenger of the gospel [ a worker in the harvest] when you are already a believer as I understand it? Yes he may have brought about a season of refreshing and re-commitment for some believers who may have needed the boost but generally his focus is on salvation of souls [evangelism].

Did you know that you can do what he is doing? Anyone who preaches the message of the gospel which brings salvation will always reap a harvest. He has just taken the truth and ran with it.

Bless him!!!

I follow him because his messages are so powerful. As I said, the sermon I linked to above moved me to tears. It's not easy to do that to me. I think we, as Christians, should follow and encourage those who are doing God's work. I just want to be sure this man I'm following is legit and not doing this just to make money. I guess I should be asking God in prayer rather than asking others.

Please forgive me If have come across impertinent or discourteous in any way. That was certainly not my intention. I am a Pentecostal believer from NZ and many of my friends are just like this man but they do not necessarily minister to the large audiences he has available to him. This of course, is due to the Lord opening up those doors for him to bring his message to all who will hear the gospel of the truth which is awesome!

The reason I asked the question was because ~ I support my friends in their ministry as evangelists but I do not sit under them because 1. We all grew up with the same basic understanding of the message of the cross, 2. We are already saved 3.We are all mean't to be out there executing all our gifts in whatever God has called us to...

I hope that this has cleared up any misunderstanding or perhaps it's just made it worse... IDK

Oh, I didn't take your reply as being discourteous. I was just stating why I was following him. The real reason I became so interested in him was because my wife is not saved. I was searching around one day looking for a video to show her that might lead her to the Lord and came across this one. Now I know that I could tell my wife about Jesus myself and hope that she would get saved that way but things are not all rosy between us to be honest. I also have some addictions I'm struggling with right now, smoking and alcohol, and I don't think my testimony to her would cause her to become saved. So I am stuck trying to find someone else who she could listen to that is right with the Lord and can lead her to be saved. I hope that makes sense and thank you for taking the time to explain.

Thanks for clearing that up Brother Joe, bless ya!

I still believe that you have a testimony to tell and I'm sure that your beloved other half can see the dramatic changes in you since becoming a believer despite your personal struggles. We all have them. I think the guy is great but I guess we can all be tempted. I'm hoping that he will stay on the straight and narrow.
