Yea, get two new tires for your bike. You had very old tyres on your bike and it was like riding on ice. The tyres were too slippery to be safe. It was a wonder that you did not have an accident earlier with your old tyres.
That will stop you from compounding the damage to your knees as the new tyres will work much better for you and stop the bike from sliding out when you apply the brakes.
