Hello
The role of the police is to only record our abuse of our liberties. They have no ability to protect us or to enforce the boundary conditions and limitations of our liberties as that is each persons responsibility and obligation within the societies' that we all live in. The enforcement of our liberties within the societies that we live in, is the collective responsibility of the people who live within that society's structure.
On the other hand our politicians, from all parties, should be explaining to the people how we have lost our liberties, explain how the consequences of losing our liberties are impacting our lives and the how and what, we, the collective people, must do to restore our liberties so that we can live in harmony with each other.
Christ, when He was on the earth during His first Advent, spent his time focused on how we have lost our "Freedom," which is a spiritual entity for our lives, and pointed out how we can restore our "Freedom" by fixing/repairing the boundary conditions within which we must live to maintain the "Freedom" in our lives which we can enjoy, or otherwise suffer the consequences of giving up the "Freedom" of our healthy relationship with God.
We lose out "Freedom" when we break across the boundary conditions of the Freedom we Have with out God who is also the creator of the earth that we live in and on. The consequences of moving outside of the boundary conditions of our Freedom with God is separation from God and the subsequent dying the second death as described in Gen. 2:17, which is poorly translated in our English translations. In our Scriptures, God has also set out how we can restore our relationship with God such that we can enjoy Life with God once more.
With respect to the simplistic poll attached to this thread, the poll question ignores the processes involved in living out lives within God's "earth" and focuses on living within the "land" our hearts desire to control to our advantage.
Sadly we complicate our relationship with God by attempting to become "God Like," and destroying any relationship with God that we may be able to establish by accepting God's terms of peace with us. Establishing "peace" with God is a cyclic process which ebbs and flows between us and God where God is consistently the same in His boundary conditions of His terms of "Peace" while we flip flop within the terms of peace that we want with God, and consequently end up having no "Peace" with God until we relent our desire to control the environment in which we live.
Sadly the political environment does not acknowledge God in the equation of living Life in God's Earth.
Shalom
