Did God ever revoke his covenant with David tentatively?

Question. I think I remember reading somewhere that God did this. I can't remember where. If someone has a passage please share and thank you

Not that I am aware of did he ever, at any given moment, revoke it. Even after several egregiously defiant acts on David's part, God never broke or even threatened to rescind the covenant that He previously established with him. David was punished several times, his kingdom was reduced to two tribes after Solomon, the temple was destroyed, and his nation was sent into captivity for 70 years. But, God never ever annulled His promise to David, that a seed of his would sit on the throne of Israel for eternity.
