Discretion is a word God keeps pressing upon my heart. There wasn’t much I knew of the word; only that it meant the ability to keep secret what others may share in confidence. To not be a gossip. To be discreet with details. Now I’m seeing there is more to this word discretion than I originally assumed. Discretion including temperance, self-control, discernment, restraint,...judgment.

Googles definition: the quality of having or showing discernment or good judgment : the quality of being discreet : circumspection especially : cautious reserve in speech. 3 : ability to make responsible decisions. 4 : the result of separating or distinguishing.

Jeremiah 10:12
[12] He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

What does the Bible say about having discretion?

We all want wisdom but have you ever considered ‘discretion’? What does it mean to you? Are wisdom and discretion the same?

Hmm I've never thought about the spiritual side of discrection.
I would link it with being wise as to me it implies knowing when it isise to speak/act or not to do so.

Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;
4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.
7 ¶ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I guess the meanings of words change over the centuries.

Not sure I understand.
