Hello. I have two kids: 6and 9 years old. Sometimes I let them to play computer games on the net but I'm afraid they can find some bad stuff there. Is there a way to bock it somehow?

I don't have young kids any more but I would be worried too about what they might find online. Even just doing a Google search for scripture verses can bring up some unsavoury stuff.

yes you can activate a blocker. Further inquiries are necessary. I can't help you there.

It is a foolish parent who thinks their kids are not going to immediately go to a friend's "unblocked" computer to see what it is their own parents are hiding from them.

TEACH them! Don't just tie their hands thinking that will work for long..

Addressing the OP only. yes, this is a problem today on the internet. as quietthinker said there are parental controls setting and various blockers OUT THERE. but today's advertisers and the software they used are very complex and sophisticated.

my wife and I was on a bible site downloading a program, (we have been to this site several times, with no problems),and in the midst of a download a pop up came announcing an x-rated site. we was schocked because this was a bible site. upon searching the orgins of the pop up, the site had unknown advertisers supporting the site. found out later this was normal pratice. well after that incident we installed more secure pop up blockers. but advertisers have many others way to get at you.

when our children where still at home we told them just don't click on anything that may pop up, or just shut off the computer. for as we know, that was the best defence, had no problems.

That's horrible... Hope this won't happen ever again.

I want to share some results. On Friday I downloaded that program from familyfriendlydns.com and since then I didn't see any bad content. Maybe it's just a coincident but I hope It will be like that all the time.
