Im new here and not sure how this works but have so many questions. Doesn't the church believe in Marriage anymore? Why is the church so acceptable to Divorce? I have stood for my marriage for 10 years with no support from my church. This upsets me. Does anyone believe in restoration anymore? Does not God honor Marriage Covenant and if so why doesnt the church. I just find this unacceptable, we should be able to run to our churches when divorce is face to face with us. We should not be told to move on with our lives. Is there anyone else that feels this way or is it just me. Please help me understand.

I am not sure what you want from the church?

People want to divorce and not marry but shack up together instead. That is supposed to be the Churches fault?

Not the people making the decisions to divorce and not marry but shack up together? <_<

I just think that the CHURCH is the place we need to be able turn to when facing divorce. The church should be in agreement for RESTORATION of a marriage. The COVENANT OF MARRIAGE should be upheld in the church. I would think the church would be in prayer and stand in agreement for marriage. Not tell you to move on with your life. Could this be why the divorce rate in the church is as high as it is in the world. Is that the way that GOD wants it? Has the church become acceptable to divorce as the world has? This is very upsetting to me. Please know that I am aware and understand there are circumstances if you are in danger or harm but I am not speaking of these situations. Am I the only one that feels this way?????

Its not about anything being the Church's fault at all. This isn't about shacking up but about a Christians Divorcing and where does the Church stand with it. Im sorry if I there has been any confusion on this.

Modern 'Christianity' is filled with unbelief. God gave His people promises for EVERY situation. On Judgment Day many will find out they have been victimized by their churches rather than helped. I am very convinced that MANY 'Christians' will spend eternity in Hell for adultery.

Luke 16:18 (NKJV)
[sup]18 [/sup]Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.

Rocky,

What do you have against Francis Chan? I watched the video, and he was talking about preaching a message that wasn't popular. And how when people put you down for standing up for what you believe, then take heart, because they hated Christ first. I don't see how the video went along with your post.

I like Francis Chan by the way. I am hoping that he will by faith pop himself out of the slump and get back to ministry. Follow this link and click "Watch Now" http://www.francischan.org/.

I don't know, I don't see it as a slump. I see it as God leading him out of the public spotlight for a little one-on-one time. If he was being obedient to what God was calling him to do, how can we call that a slump.

I actually worried over the guy when I watched that particular video. Francis Chan has a lot of potential in the kingdom of God, I pray for the guy!

No Probs, thanks for the clarification.

Here where I live in Australia. I have yet to come across a Church, that is a mainstream denomination that has deviated from marriage being required and should only be between a man & a woman. Doesn't matter whether I agree with their theology & doctrines or not.

I know elsewhere this is not the case, you don't have to travel far to find other Churches of the same denomination that are challenging that position.
