Dont Kick Against The PricksActs 91And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. 6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. I am Jesus who thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the Pricks God said this to Paul The Greek word Kentron translates into the English word "prick"In anceint times a prick was a stick with a sharp point used to goad or encourage cattel and other animals to move. When the point pushed against the animals leg it hurt. So one who keeps kicking against the point(Prick) is not being wise Christ often used simple phrases in his teachings. Lets look a little deeper into this Word Kentron In a mathematical sense,a Kentron / "Prick" is the sharp end of a compass which holds a pencil at the perfect distance from the center allowing the user to draw a perfect circle. The "prick is therefore the center.Astronomically speaking the Kentron / "Prick" is the center of the universe. of course Jesus is the center of our universe. But What happens when you kick against the "Pricks" ? In the mathematical senseyou would not get a perfect circle. In the astronomical sense you would throw the universe out of balance. This is what Christ was telling Paul not to do in Acts 9:5Now ask yourself do you kick againtst the "Pricks" in your walk with the Lordthrowing your life off center? hurting only yourselfGod says it is harder when one kicks against the "Pricks" suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: Proverbs8:20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: Proverbs8:21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasuresProverbs8:22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. Proverbs8:23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. Proverbs8:24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Proverbs8:25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: Proverbs8:26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. Proverbs8:27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: Wisdom was used to accomplish the full circle of Gods Plan. Wisdom was there when God set his plan or the Prick of his compass, into motion to map out the face of the earthProverbs 8:28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: Proverbs 8:29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: God had that compass, that circle, that measure that point of which was perfect. This earth age will pass away, but Gods Word will never pass away His plan is perfect in its design as a circle is perfect when drawn with a compass.
