Car ban means ICE ban, although some politicians do want 15 minute cities with no cars of any kind at all used.
That means all stores and jobs by law only a 15 minute walk or bike ride away. Of course, totally crazy and unworkable, supporters talk about virtual teaching jobs too.

30 trucks can draw as much power as entire city requires
Consumer vehicles only account for roughly 25% of the petroleum products used globally. Industry accounts for the rest.

Then we have the electricity demand. As the Government demands "cleaner" sources of electricity generation and manufacturing is moved to other places the overall demand of electricity is down but even more generating facilities have been shuttered creating brown sites.

Make no mistake, burning coal puts mercury into the environment in a disastrous fashion. There exists technology to remove the vaporized mercury and other pollutants but it's expensive as well...but possible. The ONLY way to produce enough electricity to sustain an all electric logistics system is by restoring all the closed coal burning power plants and then retrofitting them with scrubbers for the emissions.
Even if every logistics truck sold was required to be electric from today forward petroleum usage will still continue to increase past the year 2050.

Oil demand forecast by IEA is way off, OPEC says that may cause not enough investment into oil production

'Dire Consequences' For Billions: OPEC Blasts IEA's Fossil Fuel Demand Forecast, Warns Of 'Energy Chaos' On Unprecedented Scale — 3 Top Oil Stocks From Wall Street

"The latest projections from the International Energy Agency (IEA) suggest that demand for oil, gas and coal will peak before 2030."

This is mental distortion on huge scale from reality, based on green hype agenda. Only way oil demand falls off cliff is if billions of people die soon as GREEN TECH is no where capable at scale to do what their minds think.

Electric Trucks in the big City's may be a good idea to reduce pollution levels regarding peoples health.
The Trucks just come in and drop the battery's off and a forklift picks them out like a crate or pallet and replaced with another in 15 min.
That's about all they are good for.

You do not see Large Trucks blowing smoke anymore out on the roads, all you see is a heat coming out of the exhaust pipe.

The lithium batteries required for a tractor trailer rig weigh 8,000 lbs....a fourth of the weight a tractor can carry on most streets and highways.
Meaning that the trailers cannot hold as much freight without being overloaded.

Then on top of this....an electric truck can only drive for 6 hours before needing 10 hours of charging. That's in addition to a $480,000 price tag over a standard Truck costing roughly $180,000. Meaning owner/operators are now unemployed.

All of this means empty grocery stores, shipping costs going through roof. All kinds of disasters await us for this fiasco of a domestic policy.
The technology is not there yet and may never be there. There are better solutions than this.

What i seen was that they do not recharge at all but replace the bank of battery's, a fork lift does it all in 15 min or so. a Trucking company may not own the battery's ? but have a system of payment to use such.
The Company who owns the Battery's charge the battery's up within the station and have stocks needed to supply the numbers needed.

Your correct about the extra weigh.

My point was in regard to health emissions within some City's. Not the bigger picture that Governments are pushing now ?
You can drop Trailers off and then have battery powered Trucks hook up in no time at a Station manned to do such 24/7

Yes cost go up but people like Biden could not give a rats about such at all. not to mention wealthy greenies.

Yep only real big Company's will survive in the future, it's the same with everything because to much red tape, such takes up so much regarding the cost of Business plus you have to have a Lawyer on call 24/7. The days of one man running the Business are over.

The USA produces the Truck, and China produces most of the batteries.

""""China made about 75 percent of the world’s lithium-ion batteries in 2021, compared with 7 percent for the U.S., according to the International Energy Agency.

That has gained the attention of Congress, considering the Biden administration’s aim of ramping up electric car sales. By 2030, the administration wants as much as half of new car sales in the U.S. to be electric. Republicans have criticized that goal in part on the grounds that it would play into the hands of China and other geopolitical foes."""""

Wait until they understand the realities of refining lithium for the batteries....it's messy and caustic and an environmental disaster.

Then there's the issue of rare earth elements....dug out of the ground in Burma where the longest Civil War in world history is still being fought. (And we think that Israel/Palestinians held the title....HA!)

Lithium batteries are not going to be anything other than a "stop gap" measure. It doesn't really solve any issues that have been raised AND
The climb to Peak petroleum usage is still so far off into the future that it's a great cause for debate. But it will continue to erode at OPEC+'s power over the market as time marches onward.

Passenger vehicles still only utilize a quarter of global petroleum production. Currently there is no suitable replacement.

Well, I suppose that "Scout Motors", trucks and Suvs, formerly "Internl/U]", doesn't understand that
They are now in the process of building a plant in Blythewood, SC., just outside of Columbia SC.

Next to go broke chasing a fantasy. All vehicle batteries fail the test when you take them to freezing temps anywhere. Ford failed miserably in Wyoming. Can't haul and the range is reduced by how cold it gets.

Scott Motors is simply taking the subsidy money targeted for failure .....Where is your outrage? That's your tax dollars being wasted ......

Granholm couldn't even pull off a caravan of EV's in warm weather .....Time to the the crats to get off the lawn ......

Got to give the socialists credit ......they lost the Civil War in America and traded it all for slavery to mine their crap for batteries ....

The global ideal of the elite's NWO, through a "Global Economic Empire", which has never been before, is to cull/kill off the world population from 8 billion down to 500 million.
Only THEN will electric vehicles be feasible in THEIR 15 min cities, that they are building now.
We are in the two stages of Rev. 9 with the "scorpion sting" and then the "killing off 1/3 of men" through WW3, which is NOW in process.

The Saudis refuse to open the spigot anymore than what it currently is at. They could....but want the prices high so they can purchase some nuclear weapons and build infrastructure in Arabia.

Because the senate just blocked the support for Ukraine and they now feel that they need Nuclear weapons to deter Russia from attacking. The Saudis don't have a sufficient military to stop either China or Russia....not really up to stopping Iran either. And with the political fighting in America everyone is looking at ways to defend themselves.

Everything is related.

Electric “trucks, cars, vehicles”…

The ENERGY required to MAKE “batteries” and “maintain” those batteries, for Electric vehicles..IS Highly “COSTLY”.

The Government IS Already in positioned authority OVER the Electric Grids.
The Government IS Already roundtable discussing How to Downsize the World Population.
The Government IS Already roundtable discussing Forced Limited USE to consumers of ELECTRICITY and CUT OFFS.
ANY PLOY dreamed up by roundtable participants to confine, limit, control, Individuals IS instigated through a host of ANY means.

Whoo hoo, get an electric vehicle…free charging stations will appear…..then they will cost….then they will be cut off…

AND BTW, do a bit of research on the number of big truck, autos….ACCIDENTS crashing, flipping, etc….. AND THEN research what HAPPENS when an ELECTRIC vehicle in motion Crashes. Toasted!

Nevermind what happens during floods and hurricanes....or even ice storms. Those EVs are not just worthless...they become a menace due to the batteries exploding and starting fires.

I heard our national electric grid is sorely outdated for the most part.
Giving billions to Ukraine but leaving America's infrastructure wanting.

Very short sighted in my opinion for government and or corporations to push EV's. Especially in trucking.

It is a myth EV's are environmentally superior to fossil fueled cars anyway. Yet, it seems we will happily buy a bill of goods if we believe we will stop global warming in doing so.
