Encouragement and Hope

So we are in a new year now. A year of change but also for those of us who belong to the Lord a year of hope, Some things will change a lot, some things will change a little but our Father, our God will never change.

I didn't intend this to be a thread but wanted to post it on my profile but apparently there are too many characters, even though some of the others have many more.

Ephesians 1:2-8

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will – to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. @Pearl Ephesians is an amazing Epistle; and laying hold of what it says really does put other things in perspective.

There is too much debate and speculation so this thread is all about hope and encouragement. As the scriptures tell us:

1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up,

2 Corinthians 13:11
Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

Hebrews 3:13
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today’, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness

@Pearl 2 Thessalonians 2.16-17 is another passage; about 'good hope':

"Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work."

From experience I don't think there will be many who are really interested in encouraging others. But we can encourage each other.

To think that this former Levite, as per Acts 4.36, who was formerly into the law, which cannot save or comfort, was now glowing with the Gospel and encouraging others...

@Pearl It's why we are here in the world. The Lord could have taken us straight to heaven, but He chose not to....
