20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20.
Have you ever heard someone say "l live by the faith of the Son of God." You can attend faith seminar's, or you can be built up in the most holy faith, or someone might say I'm trying to get more faith to believe God. But you usally don't hear many folks talk about living by the faith of another. Even most translations of the word of God will read "I live by faith in the Son of God." That is along way apart in understanding what Paul was saying. We all place faith in the Son of God as believers, as a matter of fact that's what makes you a believer. It's grace through faith but faith is what made you a believer. It may be the measure given to you but regardless it was faith.
Paul always did have a way of throwing a monkey wrench (Oklahoma term) into what people knew as true. Not only did he say he was saved by grace through faith but now he was saying there was another part to faith. This faith did not belong to the believer, it was not conjured up by the believer. This faith came by and was through the Christ that was in him.
Have you ever given much thought to the Christ in you having His Own faith, and you could live by that faith. Paul said believers would not only live by faith but for a growing believer they would learn to live by the faith of another. So now not only do believers learn to live by the life of another, that same life has a faith they live by as well.
I don't know what that means to other people, I know what it means to me. I have my understanding on living by the faith of the Son of God.
I have many crude examples of a subject most of the time. For example; when we hear a rags to riches story we go crazy (at least the media) on how they did it. The computer age and the cell phone and other technologies, and they are good stories. But what intrigues me more than anything is how people survived before.
To me; there just seemed to be a faith that most can only know as Paul describes, of another. When you look at what people did and how they did it. I know it was a different time but there seemed to be that faith that Paul said you live by. If you know anything about Christianity where it comes from and how it has survived. I came in on the tail end of the dieing preacher's that were in alot of the different movements of God at the time. Pentecostal movement, the Latter Rain movement, the Healing Revival, big tent revival and so on. The major denominations were formed from these. But it is the same faith today that Paul said the believer has available in them by Christ in them.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: - Ephesians 2:8.
