Hebrews 11:4 (NKJV)
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.

How is it, and why is it said, that Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice than Cain?

Scripture says it was because of faith, or in other words, Abel believed something, and this something that Abel believed, obtained a witness from God, and God testified for Abel that his offering was accepted… So what was it that Abel believed that Cain did not? …

Abel believed that offering the life of this world was what would be accepted, whereas Cain believed he should offer the fruit of the life of this world.. Abel because he believed correctly obtained witness that he was accepted, Cain, did not believe correctly and so that being, his offering was not accepted…

This truth, that Abel’s faith grabbed onto, scripture says, ‘through it….he still speaks’, meaning, that this same truth still applies today….For it is the not being willing to give up the life of this world, with its reasonings, desires and whatnot, that keeps God hidden from the soul… For faith in God speaks as loudly today as it did when Abel, ‘by faith offered’….

Seeing yet, that Abel’s sacrifice was a more perfect sacrifice than Cain’s, yet it was not the most perfect sacrifice which could remove sin from the fallen soul… The most perfect sacrifice, was the sacrifice of Christ, being that sacrifice that put to death the fallen life and restored to the soul a new life… It is faith in this completed work of Christ, and all it pertains, that the faith of the heart is to have faith in…

Which is; that when Christ died on the cross, we died with Him, for it is the faith in this truth and all its ramifications that frees one from all that would separate one from God… For this makes the sacrifice the most perfect, for it restores to man what man lost at the fall…

Be blessed in being joined to God by the faith that obtains a witness…
