The reformation has become an endless cycle of half truth and commentary based doctrines and subsequent religions. God never meant for the reformation to get stalled and hijacked the way it has. Folks want to get back to the Acts 2 experience, but theologians of all denominations have stood in their way. The biggest opposition to the reformation is the reformers themselves.

These men and women have "dumbed down" Acts 2:38 and even the holy Bible into irrelevant and archaic.

Acts(2:38) skippers come from all doctrines and creeds though. They will be shocked someday to hear the Lord say "I never knew you", because they, professing to be the bride, would NOT take the groom's name into baptism.

Transformation can only come with the removal of one's sins per Acts 2:38.

When a woman marries, she takes on the name of the groom. If we are to become a member of the bride of Christ, we must take on his name.

The Great Commission reads...

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

I would like to point out the name is singular. This is not the only account of the Great Commission...

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. [48] And ye are witnesses of these things. [49] And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Here we have read a command to preach repentance and remission of sins, in His name. Let’s look at what Jesus’ disciples did with this command...

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Unfortunately, today's church denies his name. They deny the name of the groom. They deny his name at water baptism.
And, this is why many are no longer content with a "reformation" and hunger for something more, a "transformation" found in obedience to Acts 2:38. We have his promise in verse 39...

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The Lord has not stopped calling.

Amen.

Mankind cannot be transformed without first obeying Acts 2:38.

The 3000 that murdered Jesus were transformed that very way in Acts 2.

This has set the standard for all Christians to be transformed.

Skipping Acts 2:38 is not transforming but deforming to folks.

Acts 2 was the birth of the New Testament church, which continues to this day.
This IS the standard for all of us today.
Everything that came AFTER the death of the Apostles, are man-made (which has created thousands of denominations) - NOT Holy Ghost inspired.

Amen. And joining any of these man made religions are futile per salvation.

I agree. Since they teach the same thing basically, regarding salvation, it doesn't really pay to be content. I found this video on youtube whereby the lady was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues as per the Acts church experience. This is what we need to seek out.

Of course, Acts 2.41 shows that it's not baptism that makes the person become a believer, but 'they that gladly received his word were baptised': they gladly received it because they believed, and so they were baptised.

You are correct, it's not baptism that makes the person become a believer.

They heard Peter say this, and believed...

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

They then responded in obedience and were baptized "for the remission of sins"

Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

'For' the remission of sins, there, means 'for the sake of' rather than 'in order to try to receive' the remission of sins.

This thread is about getting away from the reformation (with all of it's thousands of denominations), and getting back to the original Acts Church for the Transformation which can only come with the removal of one's sins per Acts 2:38.

“For the remission of sins” means “in order to obtain remission of sins”.

This is indisputable

Amen, the only way any person can know they are in the church of the book of Acts is if they have the identical doctrine and the identical experience as that church had. All other churches are counterfeits.

Being baptized for the remission of sins in the name of Jesus Christ is logical by somebody first believing the word of God. It would be silly to think people will obey Acts 2:38 that don’t believe.

...but it was faith that saved; it wasn't the act of baptism, which is symbolic.

Of course....16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Faith remits sins or baptism remits them?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

In Acts 2:38, "for the remission of sins" does not refer back to both clauses, "you all repent" and "each one of you be baptized," but refers only to the first. Peter is saying "repent unto the remission of your sins," the same as in Acts 3:19. The clause "each one of you be baptized" is parenthetical. This is exactly what Acts 3:19 teaches except that Peter omits the parenthesis.

*Also compare the fact that these Gentiles in Acts 10:45 received the gift of the Holy Spirit (compare with Acts 2:38 - the gift of the Holy Spirit) and this was BEFORE water baptism. (Acts 10:47)

In Acts 10:43 we read ..whoever believes in Him receives remission of sins. Again, these Gentiles received the gift of the Holy Spirit - Acts 10:45 - when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ - Acts 11:17 - (compare with Acts 16:31 - Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved) BEFORE water baptism - Acts 10:47. This is referred to as repentance unto life - Acts 11:18.

*So the only logical conclusion when properly harmonizing scripture with scripture is that faith in Jesus Christ "implied in genuine repentance" (rather than water baptism) brings the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 5:31; 10:43-47; 11:17,18; 15:8,9; 16:31; 26:18) *Perfect Harmony*
