Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when He was taken up, after He
had by the Holy Spirit given orders to the apostles whom He had chosen. To
these He also presented Himself alive, after His suffering, by many
convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and
speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.
There are sincere folk out and about in the world believing and teaching that
Jesus came back from death; but he didn't rise from the dead. In other
words; they attest that his body didn't recover, and that God has his
remains squirreled away somewhere on the planet because, they claim, a
sacrifice has to stay on the altar in order to be effective-- the earth, in Jesus'
case, being the altar. They insist that all of his "appearances" after he came
back from death were done not in an actual body; but in a so-called
materialized body.
