8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9.

Staying on the subject of grace, when God gave us all of the Old Testament that was under the law he was showing mankind that trying to keep law's was not a answer for humanity. Most law keeping people will not allow grace because in their mind it is bad. Bad in the since a Christian can live anyway they want to. Our arguments have mostly been coming from a mind of good and evil. We judge based on 'if you're good your Godly and if you're bad you're of the devil.' We use terms like 'they are good Christian's or they have fallen away from God.

Speaking for myself, not really understanding the whole picture and judging based on good and evil, there may be a place for that but you cannot live all life like that. That is what fits the knowledge we have, if you can always keep in mind your mind has at it's original root "the knowledge of good and evil." That will help you to grow out of just a knowledge you were born with. If you cannot recognize something it makes it harder to change it.

There is another knowledge provided in scripture for the believer but it must be received. If you judge based on the knowledge of good and evil only, you will struggle renewing your mind. So God allowed law to show man they could never be what he wanted them to be. How would he get the creature to be what he wanted them to be. He would take a part of himself and put it in the creature by a birthing, 'you must be born again.'

So grace is ultimately God's plan, law was never God's plan to straighten out humanity. The law is Good according to scripture and has it's place but never was it God's plan. The plan of God has at it's core Grace, Eph. 1:4, and by that grace (Christ) mankind could find the ultimate deliverance for life. Bless you!

What is Law?
The very first instance I find the word law is here:
Gen 11:31
And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

Daughter - in - law.
The Hebrew word for daughter in law is Kallah
Betrothed, maiden, bride
and the root of that word is Kalal
Kalal:
To complete, perfect, Make complete, Make perfect.

So at this point Abram and Sarai are not made a perfect union yet. They two had not become one flesh.
Kallah is the promise of Kalal

This Kallah originated in the garden of Eden when Adam claimed Eve as his wife.
When Adam "knew" his wife it became Kalal.
Adam didn't "know" Eve though until after they left the Garden.
So In the garden they was Kallah (promise)
After the garden they was Kalal. (made perfect)

Law is the tie that binds.
It's the knot.

Without Law there would only be lawlessness and chaos.

Law has always been there:
Gen 26:5
Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

Abraham was before the Mosaic Law on Mt. Sinai
Abraham didn't have laws written in stone.
How did Abraham know what charge, commandment, statues and laws to keep?
And where did they come from?
God says Abraham kept them.
So how did Abraham recieve them?
Are they the same as the ones Moses gave?

Now Noah on the other hand, prior to Abraham.. He found Grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Law and Grace... could they be Kalal?
So many questions,
HUGS

Looky what I found!!

2Co 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

You see that word perfect???
Yeah, Kalal

The law alone can not make one Kalal, only when mixed with the Grace of God that Noah found, is it perfected.
First comes grace, then comes law, then comes perfection.
First comes the bycicle, then the training wheels, and eventually the training wheels fall off and you learn how to balance yourself :)

what do ya think?

why?

You afraid someone come and pick apart your thoughts?
I used to be. But then, I know my thoughts must come from somewhere and I feel a push to put them out there.
Some say yea some nay and thats ok.
I learn from other peoples thoughts too.
There are so many different flavored icecream in the supermarket and I enjoy them all.
Even the ones with ingredients I don't like.
Because how do I know I don't like it until I try it?
It's like lemons.. they sure are bitter until you add some sugar.
And when days get hot, it's nice to have some ice cold lemonade :)

No worries,
thoughts is the stuff that shows others who we are.
And I don't much like taking part in the parade, but then again,
it's not fun just always watching from the crowd.

Fear not... :)

Hello @soul man,

I have only now seen your OP!

Praise God! For His wondrous grace.

'And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past
in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins,
hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )
And hath raised us up together,
and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come He might shew the exceeding riches of His grace
in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.'

(Ephesians 2:1-9)

Praise His Holy Name!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

I keep hearing.. guilty conscience.
Guilty

I have to think about it more, but that just keeps nagging me.
I know by the Grace of God we are saved. And by the blood of Christ we are saved.
Pardoned..
and when we ask forgiveness and we believe we receive forgiveness..
How does that effect a guilty conscience?

5am.. time to take a nap.
