In the Revelation 12:1-5 verses, that group of verses is actually a short compressed summary from the time when Satan originally fell, down to the time future still to us, when Jesus will reign over all nations with the promised "rod of iron".

A particular section of those verses reveals a lot more info that many may not realize though. It's the Revelation 12:3-4 verses about Satan's original rebellion, and there is a lot... of information given just in those 2 verses...

Rev 12:3-4
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
KJV

Per the Revelation 12:9 verse, it defines that "dragon" there as Satan. That part in bold above is the time when Satan first coveted God's Throne and rebelled against Him. Satan drew those one third of the angels ("stars" as a symbol for them) into rebellion with him.

But did you notice 'where'... Satan's tail drew a third of those angels to? "to the earth" it says.

Some will argue, but the Ezekiel 28 Scripture contains a parable about Satan, using the titles of the prince and king of Tyrus (which means 'rock'; Satan is the little rock per Deuteronomy 32, because he wants to be God. God is our Rock per that Scripture.)

In Ezekiel 28, we are shown that God originally created Satan perfect in his ways, and then iniquity was found in him. God made Satan a covering cherub, his job to guard The Mercy Seat. Satan was even back in that time at the stones of fire, at God's Altar. God had exalted him.

Then Satan coveted God's Place, wanting to be God. And he drew a third of the angels with him, but to where again? "to the earth". (Revelation 12:4)

So what was the timeline back then when Satan first rebelled against God? What era was it per God's Word?

We well know when Satan was in God's Eden with Adam and Eve, he was already working against God in tempting Adam and Eve. That clearly shows he had already rebelled before that. That means we have to go back further than Adam and Eve, prior to God creating flesh man.

It means, there had... to have been another previous world earth age prior to the time of Adam and Eve. And that was when Satan was originally perfect in following God.

But Satan then rebelled, and with a third of the angels, and drew them where again? "to the earth"!

In case you don't yet know what those Scriptures are actually pointing to, it is this. The earth had to have already been created back in the time before Satan rebelled. That means prior to Adam and Eve also. It means there was a previous world earth age prior to this one we are in now.

And this present world earth age began when? at Genesis 1:1? No, at Genesis 1:2 with the earth already there underneath those waters of a flood, the earth having been already created at Genesis 1:1, in the beginning.

Apostle Peter covered this idea of an old earth age that God destroyed before making this 2nd one we are in now, believe it or not, in 2 Peter 3. The "world that then was" that was overflowed by water, the earth standing in the water and out of the water, that was the old world before Satan rebelled, long before Adam and Eve. God ended that old world because... of Satan's rebellion. He ended it with waters of a flood (not Noah's flood, this was long before Noah). And we know the earth was already present in that time because of this Revelation 12:3-4 Scripture.

Yet there is still more revealed in that Revelation 12:3-4 Scripture...

Rev 12:3
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

That time of a previous world earth age when Satan rebelled drawing a third of the angels with him, to earth, also involved a beast kingdom similar to one shown in Revelation 13. But the number of crowns between them is different.

Revelation 12:3 beast kingdom had "seven crowns"
Revelation 13:1 beast kingdom is to have "ten crowns"

Not only did Lord Jesus reveal, that in a previous world earth age is when Satan first rebelled and drew a third of the angels, to an already existing earth, but Lord Jesus also gave us a hint just what kind of beast system Satan originally rebelled with, i.e., a beast kingdom that had ten horns, seven heads, but only seven crowns.

No wonder God made His Word to be line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little (Isaiah 28). There is so much revealed in it, even within a short space of two verses at times.

It won't be too much longer till satan and those third that he drug with him will be taken from the earth as well. How we look forward to that day, but his time is not yet finished even then, as he will be freed to roam the earth once more for a short while. Rev 20:7
