Greetings brothers & sisters in Christ,
I am looking for fellowship as well as discipleship from like-minded believers in Christ.
Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
I do trust Jesus Christ as my Good Shepherd and not just as my Saviour in helping me to follow Him by abiding in Him & His words in living as His disciple by His grace.
I am not sure how He will use me in this forum as a member of the body of Christ, but I am open to prunings by any He should raise up so that I may bear more fruit as His disciple.
John 15:1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
I do not think the churches are discipling believers enough to warn them about the consequnce for not running that race by looking to the author & finisher of our faith in laying aside every weight & sin in living as His disciple, because John 15:6 is a warning of why saved believers that are not found abiding in Him & His words, risk being left behind when the Bridegroom comes at the pre trib rapture.
I am not pointing to good works or our efforts in repenting from all iniquity, but by His grace & by His help, I am pointing to Jesus Christ by applying faith in Him as our Good Shepherd is HOW we run that race as our confidence is to be in Him to overcome & to finish His workmanship in us it to His glory at the Marriage Supper in His honour which is why we shall cast our crowns at His feet for the crowns are His "crowning achievements" in us as we are to trust Him to do it. Amen.
