God Heals The Brokenhearted: Psalm One Hundred Forty Seven:3

Psalm One Hundred Forty Seven
King James Bible Par ▾
1Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

4He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

6The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.

Judgement And Mercy: Isaiah Sixty Six: 1-24

6The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

2 Corinthians 4:9-11 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; [10] Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. [11] For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

2 Corinthians 7:6-11 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; [7] And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more. [8] For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. [9] Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. [11] For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

James 4:9-10 Be afflicted(cast down), and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. [10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Cast down ...Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5

Hopefully you do not mind? God Comforts those cast down seems to compliment well your thread title:
He Healeth The Broken In Heart, And Bindeth Up Their Wounds

2 Corinthians 7:6 Lexicon: But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

Cast down : the depressed, ταπεινοὺς

(tapeinous) 5011: low-lying, fig. lowly, hence lowly in spirit

comforted: παρεκάλεσεν(parekalesen)

3870: to call to or for, to exhort, to encourage. from paraand kale

Strong's Greek: 5011. ταπεινός (tapeinos) -- low-lying, fig. lowly, hence lowly in spirit

from the link:
5011tapeinós(an adjective) – properly, low; (figuratively) inner lowliness describing the person who dependson the Lord rather than self. See 5012(tapeinophrosynē).

5011/tapeinós("lowly, humble") means being God-reliant rather than self-reliant – which ironically always exalts
a person (brings them true worth, cf. 1 Pet 5:6).

cast down, humble, lowly.

Of uncertain derivation; depressed, i.e. (figuratively) humiliated (in circumstances or disposition) -- base, cast down, humble, of low degree (estate), lowly.

Acts 8:32-35 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: [33] In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. [34] And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? [35] Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

@VictoryinJesus Your comment reminds me of Lamenations 3.23...

Lamentations 3:22-24 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [23] They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. [24] The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Love His compassions fail not...with Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

And now abideth (remains)faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (His compassions, Great is His Faithfulness) charity.

Thank you! Every morning I come here to the forum before starting the day. It has gotten to where I go immediately to your newest thread because there is always strength and inspiration to face the day ahead. Another Praise Ye The Lord. Praise Ye The Lord From The Heavens: Praise Him In The Heights
Amen! Each morning, at least that night before our prayer is, O LORD, as you lay us down, you would restore our soul to give you Praise each day for helping us along the way. :)

In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm Five:3

Love always, Walter
