1 Chronicles 28:9 (NASB)
“As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
“If you seek Him, He will let you find Him”
There is such promise in these words, such hope... Such God being the end of all searching. For He is in fact, the end of all searching for the heart that finds Him..
Yes we are Christians, we are saved, we are His. We have been born again to this living hope...Which hope is to be found in the manifestation of Him in our lives...
This increase of Him in our hearts and lives every day, a little bit more of Him and a little bit less of us...This seeking and searching after Him, that will end with us finding Him....Oh, the heart rejoices at such a truth!....
Our abilities matter not, only the desire of the heart after Him, and the strength of that desire....This desire after God, maintained day in, day out, will manifest itself as the new birth that we received, begins to grow and mature in us...The desire to have it grow, is the only requirement on our side..The willingness to allow it to have it’s way and grow....
The willingness is in me, says scripture...For scripture has separated the willing from the doing, one we can not, one we can...The willingness to Him, we can and should have...But this too comes with a promise, for He works both the willing and the doing...But there does need to be a willingness to be made willing, there does need to be an open door of whatever size the heart can muster...For if there is any willingness at all, God can work in that willingness to make it grow and encompass the whole life... For we can harden our hearts and flatly refuse to allow Him, and get nowhere in our growth in Him. But we are persuaded of better things, as says scripture...For God’s heart is set on our growth in Him.. For He loves us so much, so like Jonah, He will cause great stirring in the life to cause our eyes and hearts to turn to Him in truth... For the manifestation of His Son in our lives is His heart, and our life....He will settle for nothing less....If not me, if not you, He will find others that would be made willing... The stage has been set, the invitations have been sent out, now is the time of the responding.....We may have what we choose, Christ or us, as much of the one or the other as the desire of the heart would have...
To the desire of the heart turned towards God, be the desire of our hearts..
In the beloved, Not me
